Ya know...Halloween is fun. At work, they had this weekend trick or treating for the kids. The hotel was all decked out in Halloween decorations, trick or treat stations, and the festiveness of it all was fun. The kids LOVED it! Well, I saw one little girl terrified of one of the witches hanging...poor little thing would not go by that witch to save her life.

I never really paid attention, but I've noticed in recent years people deck out their homes for Halloween like they do for Christmas with the orange lights, and the huge blow up pumpkins..and the one house with the Grim Reaper in it's picture window..that is too cool! I remember when my sisters and I were kids, we loved Halloween. There was this one house, the people would go all out with ghosts hanging in the trees, a scarecrow that grabbed at the trick or treaters,(it was one of the guys who lived there that would dress up as the scarecrow), and, they had this speaker system and would be playing spooky sounds, screams, all of that good Halloween stuff. And I remember they always handed out the full size 3 Musketeer candy bars. The neighborhood kids LOVED that house! Mom, every year, she took us out trick or treating, and our last stop before going home was always at Grandma's. I think Mom did that because after a few hours of walking/running with us kids, she would be tired, and sometimes Grandma would give us a ride home..depended on how tired Mom was, or if it had started raining/snowing.

I remember one year it started snowing shortly after we started, and Mom let us do our full run of the area, ending up at Grandma's. Next morning, there was 6 inches of snow on the ground and school was called off. I remember that winter being one of the snowiest and my sisters and our friends having a blast that year with snow forts, snowball fights, snow angels....yeah, we were even nice a few times helping Dad dig his car out. Like I said, I used to love winter as a kid. Now...I like it fine, just don't like the snow covered roads, digging out my driveway while I can hear the 5 boneheads in the backyard playing, and the bills for heating the house. Other than that....I would probably still enjoy winter. I do admit, I love my patio window in the living room. When it's that slow, relaxing snowfall, I love to just sit there and watch the snow falling. Something soothing about it, watching the snow flakes falling. And when the dogs are outside, I have to laugh watching them romping and rolling in the snow like a bunch of fools. And on occasion, I'll go out in the backyard with them, make some snow balls and throw them for the dogs. They love that. Bunch of goof balls.

Yeah, I know. I'll be bitching and whining about the cold again. I'm fine with it till about February. Then I'm tired of it, and want the warm weather back. A lot of that is due to I like having my windows opened. I'm thinking next spring transplanting my rose bushes from the backyard to the front yard. They're not doing so good in the backyard because the 5 dummies keep trudging through them. You would think these dogs would avoid them because of the thorns, but nope, not my crew. So...if anyone has any good hints for how to go about transplanting rose bushes....I'm all ears...errrr....eyes?

Ok...I'm off to see what's going on in the world. Have a good evening everyone.

That was cute what the hotel did . More and more I see people yards decorate for the fall and Hallooween. For a long time people were just scared of this holiday so many bad things happening. It why years ago Tommy and I always had a Halloween party with bonfire hayrides an everyone dressing up. Everyone brought food and candy for the kids. Now one of my sons and his wife have it.Not like its far they have their land and house right next to mine.
