What's everyone doing this fine, Fall day? Out raking leaves? Not me. Normally, I run the mower one last time around now to mulch up the leaves, but I think this year, I'll let Mother Nature do her thing. Ok, I admit it, I just don't want to fire up the lawn mower today. Doing my Fall cleaning today, and popping in to see what's not going on here in Pervia.

Yesterday's classes were all tests! And today's class, another test. I swear all instructors got together the previous week and decided simultaneously to drive the students crazy this week with tests. But, being the well behaved student I am, I had studied and prepared for them and feel I did good. And will do good with tonight's test also. Been looking at what is being offered for the Winter semester courses, and see that one of the instructors I have right now is teaching 2 of the classes I need to take for Winter. He's one of those fun instructors that teaches with humor. And, he's an actual lawyer (all of the law instructors at this college are lawyers..which is why the law classes are in the evenings.) and he has some fun and interesting tales to tell. He is a criminal defense lawyer. The other law class I have, that instructor works in a firm that deals with banking and collections, and one I had back last winter, he worked for a firm that deals with business issues. It's fun when they talk about some of the things they have worked on and bring their own experiences into the classroom.

Work has been slow, as is usual about this time of year with hotels aimed at family fun when the kids are back in school. The fall colors are starting to pass their peak around here, so the coach groups that go on the "colors tours" are winding down also. It will be literally "dead" for a few weeks until the Thanksgiving/Christmas season starts. Then we get steady again until after the New Year. Saw on the news last night around here that it's supposed to "cost less" to heat our homes this winter. I think they said 3% less. It's not much, but, I'll take it! Still, I'll be keeping the thermostat at around 65....good thing I have the dogs....use their fur coats for warmth.

Ok...I hear the washer has stopped...time to get back to cleaning around here I guess. Hope everyone is having a good day.

No raking leaves around's cold and spittin' rain. Last I saw in the weather forecast, it would be about 3 days of 50 degrees and rainy...s'pecially tomorrow. Don't know what I'm gonna do today. Thought I'd work in the garage but having second thoughts.

We got a bunch of good apples off of a guys tree so last night I peeled a bunch of them and made baked apples. They were good but for some reason the marshmallows didn't melt like they should've. I used Splenda brown sugar and that liquid butter that isn't made from anything so the carb and calorie count was low.

It's funny, some of our trees have lost most of their leaves already, some are still in their peak and some haven't changed much at all. When we went to the races Saturday, it's about 2 hours south of here and usually their leaves are behind ours in turning but it looked like November trees down there...a lot of bare trees and the leaves were definitely past their peak.

I might just watch movies and work on my latchhook rug today...

Today is our first cool and rainey day of the fall season. It has been in the 78-88 range and just beautiful for the past month. I can't leave the back door open to throw the ball for Talulah to retrieve and had to turn the heat on. I am not excited about it at all. I am not looking forward to the cold side swiping winds we get downtown....and no I am not raking leaves.....

@Softie: I have never had baked apples...but that sounded delicious! I do like apples.

I know what you mean about the trees...we have some here that are mostly bare, yet, there are still some with leaves that haven't changed yet. And yes, there are some that are peaked that haven't had their leaves ripped off from the high winds we had the last couple of days.

Ok...back to some of my fall cleaning.

@bunny: I don't mind the fall weather. I find it refreshing after a hot summer. And I honestly don't mind winter, for the first 24 hours. Usually about February I'm tired of winter...unless it's a mild one, than I might be ok till March.

Today, I haven't done much.....made some hamburger soup, worked on 2 different quilts. The one for my son and daughter in law is taking forever! But it's all done by's a Yo Yo quilt...look it up on the 'net, they are cool quilts! And then I'm working on a baby quilt for a lady that works with hubby.

Got the windows open, a cool breeze blowing, watching "The Stand" on of my favorite movies!

So there ya go, a whole bunch of nothin'!!
