I dunno about this one- I mean the video looks real posted 10/11/2011 1:46:57 PM | 0 kudos what's this?     report abuse   somnium 'n all but a few things stand out in my mind: 1- the timing problem- I could see it if two people were in the pickup- one watching the landing gear, telling the driver what moves to make- left, right- speed up, slow down etc! It could be that the pilot/co-pilot saw the pickup moving towards them but, you can see that when the pickup was underneath the plane, neither one would be able to see the pickup! 2- most of the weight of the plane is on the main landing gear when they touch down but there is still considerable weight in the front of the plane too- I'm thinking well past the load capacity of the pickup, not to mention one of the tires probably should have popped from the sudden weight anyway. Although, with the front of the plane being higher than normal when landing, it would shift its center of gravity towards the rear of the plane, shifting some of the weight too- but still......! If this is true, then maybe the airlines should build in pickups for their front landing gear! I'm just not 100% convinced that's all! If it was a business jet, then I don't have a problem with this! Videos can be faked just like photos can be! What do y'all think- am I off base on this?? 	Maybe the driver of the truck had someone radioing to him? Dunno...stranger things have happened. Although I do agree that at least one of the tires on that truck should have "popped" with the weight of a full size jet landing on it's back. If it had been a Cessna or Piper...maybe..but a full size jet? Those have gotta be some damn good tires. I want a set for my van!

	Maybe the driver of the truck had someone radioing to him? Maybe but that would be at a distance and a different angle- binoculars might help but it would have to be rapid exchanges! I want a set for my van! I want the pickup!

	^^^^^ Yep- that pickup would have been pancaked for a commercial jet's front gear to land in the truck's bed! But, looked pretty good tho... at first anyway!

	I watch a lot of sports so I have seen it several times. I am immune to special effects as they are so overdone in movies, TV and commercials. It becomes gagetry that is rather boring past a certain point.

	Look VERY closely at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen in the very beginning of the video. In small white letters it says: “Fictionalization. Do not attempt.” Thus video is fake, but Nissan will not be liable under any lawsuits for idiots who DO attempt to re-enact this stunt.

	Of course it's fake, no way would they risk a disaster with a vehicle on the runway when the plane is built strongly enough and they have a procedure for a gear up landing. Good video though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AiP_KO_8fw
