When I got to the office this am I was shocked to find the parking lot nearly empty. The building is part retail and part offices. No one was working today! Then someone had to remind me that today is Columbus Day. With no children in school and being self-employed, I find that often there is no one to remind me that a holiday has creeped up on me once again, and I often embarass myself as I did this am with an email to an office, and am politely told, it was a holiday and the office was closed. I need a "Holiday Detector" so I know these "minor" holidays are happenning. You know the ones, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, President's Day. If it weren't for the sales at the mall I would be even more lost. Guess I should pay more attention to Facebook. Isn't that where all knowledge is now found????

Lol I let you both know when the banks and post office isn't open for a minor holiday . I work retail and we are always slammed on these days.

...it was another special day too...but it looks like pink isn't at her game and forgot...it's my birthday and i had a great time with my Mom!

She forgot my birthday too...but I talked with her via messenger and told her it was "ok".

Happy Birthday. Everyone forgets birthdays sometimes. My kids forgot mine last year. LOL There was a lot going on at the time with my mother so I can understand how it happened. But I bet they don't forget it again.

Occasionally I am... no more than occasionally... in the same place wondering. What's Up???

I found that coworkers would use this lack of knowledge to swap days with me with a sob story, cause they knew I didn't follow mother's/ father's day and such (being an orphan and without amoebas of my own)

I learned to have knowledgeable friends.. text me before agreeing to such swaps. Don't lie when asking for a favor!

Now ask when the full moon is (tonight)... or the meteor shower (10/22)

We all have special knowledge... just not all from the same base of importance... it was Canadian Thanksgiving!
More important than a man lost and refusing to ask for directions... then pretending that's where he wanted to go.
