Sad day today but, not unforeseen as ill as he was!
An amazing business he and Steve Wozniak started in 1976!
The first Apple IIC I had was one I built using a mother board I bought from a friend and a keyboard, power supply and a case I bought from a computer parts company back then! I used a monitor I had in my parts inventory from a major computer firm I was employed with as a service engineer! I had no storage capability- it was just a toy at the time to get to know!
Then someone broke into my house one day and took my 'PC'. So, I put in a claim into the insurance company and they gave me enough to purchase an Apple IIE with 5ΒΌ floppy drives!
That started my PC hobby then, as a tool for my business and now well... it keeps my mind active and to store projects I have in mind + all kinds of other things!

This is sad but not unexpected.
I have been Mac based for 20 years starting with an LC II that ran at 16 MHZ processing speed (an IBM 386 with Windows 3.1 ran at 20 MHZ at the time). It cost me a grand and had an 80 MB hard drive with 4 MB of RAM. A friend gave me Photoshop 1.0 but I didn't have enough RAM to run it
I still have a 14 YO iMac that I use daily to play System 7 card games on. Many of these games are old enough to be in high school. I also have graphic and multimedia System 7 apps from the nineties on it that cannot be matched by apps on my newer one. Around the turn of the century Mac switched from a Motorola processor to the same Intel processor that PCs use and backwards compatibility was lost.
Hmmm, "turn of the century"; yep, getting rather long of tooth

Yeah, guys, get it checked. I have and it is not as painful as people make it seem.

They were comparing him with people like Edison and Ford last night and I would have to agree. Although I have never used a Mac because it would not run what I needed it to run back in the day I always admired the new ideas they came out with. I would say the competition between Apple and Microsoft was a driving factor in new technology in personal computers.

...it is very sad when someone passes. He did many great things and will be missed.
