I discovered something today, and it was surprise. Tho I'd long suspected I could get things cheaper here in Marble Hill than I could in the Cape, I found that one reason I wound up spending so much when I went to Wally World was that the prices aren't that low really. Take milk, $4.05 or so at wally, $3.45 here at Country Mart. Cat food is a few cents more as well, the only thing any cheaper is the larg bag of dry cat feed. Then there is the added fuel, 11 miles round trip to town here, 40+ to Jackson and 50 round trip to the Cape. So add another 6 bucks to go to Jackson, and about 7.50 more to the cape and I don't save a penny. Guess most of my shopping will be in town here from now on.
Got a few odds and ends accomplished today that I had been meaning to get to for weeks now, like getting the shop vac out of the house,. Had to straighten up a spot in the shop to put it tho, and will be working on that off and on this week too. Gonna have one hell of a bon fire once the leaves are gone. Don't wanna set the trees on fire around here. I’m thinking the flames would get to the tops and I’d be in one hell of a mess. But at least I’m getting busy, finally, on what needs to be done.
At some point I’m going to have a good garbage sale and see how much of this stuff that I don't need can go out the drive way and into some one else's good shit. And put a few pennies in my pocket. A few things I'm going to get rid of just because I don't want them, like his dining table and a couple of junk and miss-matched chairs. Picked up from the donation pile at Salvation Army in Columbus, when he was living up there. Then there are the hundred or so pounds of assorted nuts, bolts, nails, brackets, and other crap he had to drag with him. To him, it was all worth it's weight in gold, and worth as much. To me and anyone else, it isn't worth keeping. I mean you can only hang onto so much “stuff”, then it owns you, not the other way around.
When I get right down to it, a few dishes, some flat ware, a few knives, most, but not all my tools, my bed, and my clothes are about all I do need right now. And in a few years, I probably won't even need the tools. Won't be able to use them.
Well, I’m rambling, so best end this one, and in a few days will be back with more on what is going on. I've been out of the blogs but, I’ll be around more as I get more of this stuff sorted and ready to sell or toss.
