I say I am kinky, kinkier than most people here on AMD. And I keep finding men who are surprised that includes things like bondage, floggers, food play and nipple clamps.

I find myself wondering what folks who are into sex, but not necessarily BDSM view as kinky.

-- Is it anything beyond missionary?
-- Is it anal sex? Is it when a woman swallows instead of spitting it out?

What is your definition of kinky?

When I was growing up in a religeous setting. Anything reagarding sex that wasnt just to make babies was considered kinky. In other words if you were having sex for fun it was kinky and wrong. Now all sex can be fun and all can be kinky for me.

Quite some time ago you had an excellent explanation that differentiated between kink and fetishes. As for what is kinky to me, I don't have a short answer.

Okay, I'll give this a shot, but with a redirect. Anything two people can do together privately without any toys, costumes, accessories, other life forms, does not constitute kink or fetish excluding pain, strangulation, golden showers, or scat. Sounds like a poor definition to me. But I tried

To me "kinky" means anything that is beyond one or both partner's boundaries, causing them to stretch, outside their realm of experience.

I would say something outside of your comfort zone

For me that would be anything to do with something that should be going in the toilet.
And I am not fond of being hit or strangled. That's about it I guess.

I agree with your definitions although I think now they are more in the 'routine' catagory.

Unfortunately nowadays I've started seeing 'taboo', 'family fun', 'extreme age play', 'beastiality' and other illegal sex acts being called kinky.

Call me old fashioned but give me whips and chains any day over that garbage.

Well let's see... probably not really considered "kinky" to most folks (but, maybe it is, since it isn't discussed on AMD apparently) I like ass play with a lady! Both of us sans clothes (well, with her panties on to start, is kewl), with her laying across my legs giving me access to her butt including her anus of course and her pussy- you just can't go from anus to her vagina with anything or she risks getting an infection! I get to watch her movements and hear her sounds! Unfortunately, it's hard to find a lady that enjoys ass play like I want to do it!

To me, kinky is anything that trips a person's curiousity. In other words, it sounds interesting to try and it usually involves gettin' the giggles just thinking about it. Ya see, it has to sound like fun to me with an added mixture of embarrassment because I think it's outside the realm of normal...but just barely. Too far and it becomes...well, perverted. Remember...what I might find perverted to others isn't.

I think bondage is kinky but I've never tried it. But I've mulled it over a few times. I've mentioned it to a partner or two...or three over the years but they didn't pick up on it. Now I'm past any interest in kinky. Why? Just am.

I...myself...have a very defined boundary between kinky and things I simply don't like or approve of. Maybe I associate kinky with silly...something that is innocently fun and goofy and can make me blush 'n giggle. I think kinky is sort of a 'to each their own'....it's a very personal, individual choosing of many things.

Thanks for all your comments. I guess the term "kinky" really does mean alot of things to different people.

Hog, you pretty well nailed it.

Except there are things I have done dozens of time and still consider kinky..

What might those things be? Alot of experimental stuff that was new to me since I left my ex. Things like bondage (I have even been suspended by my ankles), anal sex, rimming, foodplay, flogging and riding crops, spanking, foot worship, cock worship, electroplay (TENS & Violet Wand), Fire play, fire cupping, knife play = all done safely, sanely and consensually.

Things I never imagined I would do 5 years ago!
