Inconsistencies are abound
with lights from a cortex beyond eyes
some call them dark
others call them sorrow-filled
but those who are more inspired
the recall images
of
Ernest Hemmingway reading the final tragic moments
of one man's own World War One
when life
so pleased and disgraced by personal tragedy
has become lifeless
in the hands of a fictional character
that is more real
that has more blood in his veins
than the cold images on the screen we call friends today
where
oh
where
has my human race gone?
