Most if not everyone has a movie or song that takes them back to those years. A lot of us even think of a certain year to where a movie and/or song comes to mind. Spanning over the last 35 years dating back from 1976 to 2011 , what song and movie first comes to mind for you for each of those years?

Here's mine:

1976: The movie "Carrie" / The song "If You Leave Me Now" (Chicago)

1977: The movie "Saturday Night Fever" / The song Dancing Queen" (ABBA).

1978: The movie "Grease" / The song "Staying Alive"

1979: The movie "Kramer vs Kramer" / "Rapture" (Blondie)

1980: The movie "Caddyshack" / The song "Fame" (Irene Cara)

1981: The movie "Stripes" / The song "Call Me" (Blondie)

1982: The movie "E.T." / The song "I Love Rock N Roll" (Joan Jett and the Blackhearts).

1983: The movie "Flashdance" / The song "Thriller" (Michael Jackson).

1984: The movie "Ghostbusters" / The song "Borderline" (Madonna).

1985: The movie "Back to the Future" / The song "Take On Me" (A-ha).

1986: The movie "Top Gun" / The song "Take My Breath Away" (Berlin).

1987: The movie "Fatal Attraction" / The song "Welcome to the Jungle" (Guns & Roses).

1988: The movie "Twins" / The song "Pour Some Sugar on Me" (Def Leppard).

1989: The movie "Field of Dreams" / The song "Bust a Move"

1990: The movie "Pretty Woman" / The song "Ice Ice Baby" (Vanilla Ice).

1991: The movie "City Slickers" / The song "Going to Make You Sweat" (C&C Music Factory).

To be continued another night....

Oh hell, I was going to take it all the way to 2011, and then thought a bit too much, so then I was going to take it to 2001, and then I thought fuck it, I going to stop at 1991, and do the rest of this game another night.....maybe.

During those years from 1977 on I was too busy with kids and life to really notice what was popular Ask me and I will probably say the theme from Sesame Street and Reading Rainbow followed by the theme to GI Joe and She Ra.

Back then I was pretty much out of touch with the world except for work ..
It was mostly pleasure..
Those are the part of the years I spent in the Caribbean doing occasional day charters wherever I was at the time..From the TT's to Belize and everywhere in between..

You would have liked it Shawn..Had a 4 girl crew most of the time

Through most of those years it was partying and/or college or being married. Movies were low on the priority list and too many songs to pick one

I think of the move Jaws. Song....Rock N Roll All Night (KISS)

I remember that because when Jaws came out, I was 11 and wanted to see it, and my parents wouldn't let me.

Like I said, there are too many of them. It would actually be entire albums more than individual songs anyway
