There was a loser who couldn't get a date. He went to a bar and asked this one guy how to get a date.

The guy said, "It's simple. I just say, I'm a Republican."

So the guy went up to a pretty woman and asked her out. After she said "No," he told her that it was probably a good thing because he had an important meeting early in the morning.

She said, "Oh! Your a politician?"

He said, "Why...Yes I am!"

So they went to his place and when they were in bed, screwing, he started to laugh to himself.
When she asked what was so funny, he answered, "Well, I've only been a Republican for 15 minutes, and I'm already screwing someone!"

I am guilty too, but a lot of these political jokes only bait the opposition and increase the polarization in Americans. I do not recall the nation ever being so disgusted in the middle and divided by the ends of its political spectrums. But hell, I am only 60 years old and lived through the Viet Nam War

The thing is, I don't see anybody in either party with a plan, a concept for navigating the nation out of this mess. It reminds me of some good time girls getting pregnant in the sixties: Everyone fucked her but nobody will do right by the child, they just deny and point fingers towards others. In this case the child is the American people, the American nation.

Coining an old Nixon term, the silent majority of moderates in the US is getting overlooked by the shrill dogmatic fringes. People want solutions not rhetoric. The times and circumstances call for pragmatism, not dogmatism. I am sick of the left and the right, give me the middle. I have a feeling that I am not alone in this perspective and some folks in Washington will find themselves at the end of the unemployment line after November 2012.

I like being in the "middle". Or "moderate". I'm American, not "Liberal" or "Conservative", "Democrat" or "Republican".

Amen! Good way of defining it, Bruce.

Let's see he has already lied to and screwed someone? I see a bright future for him in politics.

Funny one

Washington will find themselves at the end of the unemployment line after November 2012.

That would be nice if it were true! Problem is, the politicians have set themselves up to not having to worry about the 'unemployment line' so to speak- so, what do they care? Worse thing that will happen in 2012, is that whomever gets voted out of office, only loses their influence they had while in office (they still retain 'behind the scenes' influence)- aside from that, you can bet that financially, they are financially set for life and that includes their benefits packages of course!

All that, needs major changes!!
