That is clever analogy. I think that all of this stems from the nature of the medium in that, unlike a keyboard where we use two hands, texting involves a stylus which is kind of like using one finger. So, to me it is understandable and doesn't bother me  It bugs the shit out of me if they are using a key board, as does most sloppy poor grammar with misspelled words.
