$50 bucks?? Well... that's what breakers are for, to handle very brief overloads before tripping as opposed to just popping like a fuse that then has to be replaced! I just know you know where the breaker is now and to reset it when it trips.................... right??

That's great! But, didn't you feel a bit sheepish that you didn't check that yourself first? I bet you will next time

Cool for you!!
A storm can cause the breaker to be thrown .....just the same as... If you turned the AC off and back on...it will do it!! (On some ac units!) Dirty Air Filters..can do it too!
Just chillin...huh?

That's great! But, didn't you feel a bit sheepish that you didn't check that yourself first? I bet you will next time! The thing is with that...is the breaker it's hooked up to...on my fuse box list, it says "Hot Tub". The previous owner had a hot tub and that was the breaker to it. And, I had originally looked at that before calling, but, since it said "hot tub", I didn't give it a second thought.
But now I've got it labeled "a/c". So next time I'll KNOW for sure.
A storm can cause the breaker to be thrown .....just the same as... If you turned the AC off and back on...it will do it!! (On some ac units!) Dirty Air Filters..can do it too! I don't remember there being any storms that day. Of course, I wasn't home all day, I was at work, which is 16 miles from my home. I do remember it was working fine when I left in the morning. There could have been some small storm that rolled through by my house while it stayed clear where I work at. As for the dirty filter, that was just replaced a couple of weeks before. I monitor those. At $30 a shot for a filter for this particular unit...you damned betcha I keep a good eye on that! Actually, the guy who installed this unit recommended a site, Filters.com to me where I can get a 6 pack of the filters that my unit uses for $80. Saves me quite a bit of change.

I hate when that happens. At least he cut you a small deal. I was just sitting here making coffee and the machine didn't start. I unplugged it, plugged it back in and then I hit it....you know...like you are supposed to do. It worked. Thank god...can't function without my coffee. Do you think I should go buy a new one today or chance it?????

he only charged $50 instead of his usual hourly rate of $70. If he doesn't charge a show up fee & only charges by the hour which flipping the breaker taking 2 seconds & possibly at the most 5 minutes to diagnose that it was tripped & the word hot tub involved I feel you got punked even if he did take off twenty Twenty at the most to compensate for possibly gas is what he would have charged if he were truly an honest business man unless of course he charges an hour automatically just for making the call. ..... DUH !!!

I didn't hit it hard and it was already plugged in...I think it just needed a boost...I went shopping today and didn't see a machine that looked liked I wanted it in my kitchen. i have an espresso machine that also does cappacino, so maybe i will just pull it out again. No worries...i just had a moment. Not like i threw it across the kitchen and freaked the pup out....Hugs...AOK.
