I'm sitting here today wondering something:

How in the HELL did I live for over 30 freakin years without a/c???????? I'll tell ya, I've become spoiled on that little luxury in the last 9 years. It's in my van, and SUPPOSED to be in my house..but the damned motor on the outside unit blew. And go figure, 91 degrees and humid out this weekend! My poor dogs, it's all they've known their whole lives...they aren't liking this too well either. But I'm keeping their water fresh for them. Got all windows open, all ceiling fans going...it's moving the air around...still hot!!!!!

Yes, parts are still under warranty on the unit. Thankfully. Problem is, damn thing picks the 4th of July weekend to break down...when the guy who comes to do the work on my furnace and a/c is out of town for the weekend!

I had to leave windows open today while at work because of the dogs. Apache liked that. He loves to lay in the windows when the weather is nice and I have them open. Poor dogs, they're panting and looking at me as if to ask why I don't have the a/c on.

So...how's everyone's weekend going? Staying cool?

Hopefully, you got or will get the brief thunderstorm we just had about 1/2 hour ago, with what looked like about 500mph winds for a few seconds there! Cooled off here now- that and my pedestal fan makes if feel pretty good.......................... for now anyway!

I am sorry that you're having to do without the ac. I know it's rough to do without one during these hot summer months.

Now, on to me, I have my ac on. Very nice and cold in here.....

Yeah, had one helluva thunderstorm go through here about an hour ago..cooled things off for a bit. Actually cooled off to 79, but, didn't last long. Temps hopped back up to 88 now. But it is windy..that's helping somewhat.

That's pretty much here. 101F to 105F for the highs.......I guess that's one good reason, mid 30's was most many got to live to.

If it helps, the Danny Glover character, did not die like that in real life. He came back to Weatherford, and died of old age. Few days ago, talked to a man that knew his
granddaughter....

After the "War of Northern Aggression", there was a Yankee General stationed in Texas,

Don't feel bad... I just helped a friend move into her new apartment and well, the air conditioner isn't working at her place either! It's sooooo hot!! Her and her two daughters have been staying here with me for about a week now and I won't let them stay there tonight so they'll be with me until her air gets fixed..... I'm going crazy with all these people in my house.... and my daughter and her 2 pitbulls and my 4 cats.......

I hope you can get it fixed soon Dawn! If not, pack the dogs and cats and yourself up and come stay here with all of us!! What's a few more?!?!? LOL

Stick a bucket of cold water or ice in front of the fan and it will help pull more heat out of the room. Or run a line of that drip irrigation tube around the eaves on your house with misting jets. It will cool the house by about 20 degrees. Used to do that when I lived in the valley in San Diego with no A/C
