Lately there have been quite a few movies come out that I think I would like to see.
Especially Fast Five...... The Bad Teacher... Mr Poppers Penguins...and a few others

We have a few theatres near and the prices have gotten really steep.... well at least in my opinion they have. But everytime I drive by them, they definitely seem to be drawing the crouds even in this economy.

However, we do have a theatre near that is nicknamed the dollar movie. After new movies start getting pulled from the higher priced places this theatre shows them for a week or so..
One day during the week it only costs .75 to see a movie.
Most other days it's only $1.
Except for late Friday and Saturday nights, then it's $1.50.

But just because the movies are discounted sure doesn't mean the snacks, popcorn and drinks are. You almost have to mortgage your home or car to buy them for a family of 4.
Yes, I know that's how they make their money to stay open. But sometimes it just adds up to way too much.

I told my oldest granddaughter that her and I would go to the movies sometime this week or weekend. We will get something to eat and /or drink before we go and then it will cost us $2 to spend the time and watch a movie together.
So today I told her to pick a time and which movie, they have 10 to choose from, and we would go tomorrow.

I'm all excited about getting to go do this with her.... She has liked all of the Fast and Furious movies with me, so maybe she'll pick that (there are some movies that are just better on the big screen.)
But it's her choice as to what we see. I'm just glad we get the time together and it's not going to cost much to do something we both would like to do together.

Do you remember what the first movie you ever saw at the drive-in or theate was?

What's the last movie you saw on big screen, and who did you see it with?
Did you just see the movie, or add popcorn, snacks or drinks?

Is there anything showing now or coming out soon that you would like to go see?

Do you have a bargain theatre or drive-in near you?

Do you remember what the first movie you ever saw at the drive-in or theate was? I can't remember

What's the last movie you saw on big screen, and who did you see it with? I think it was Scary Movie 4, along with this other movie that was out around the same time back in early 2006 with Amanda Bynes in it with her character dressing like a boy just being able to play on the boys soccer team. I can't remember what it was called. I took this girl named Michelle to see them both..

Did you just see the movie, or add popcorn, snacks or drinks? We had pop corn and other snacks.

Is there anything showing now or coming out soon that you would like to go see? Maybe the new Tom Hanks movie called "Larry Crown". It also has Julia Roberts in it.

Do you have a bargain theatre or drive-in near you?

Yep, it was at a drive-in theater, it was Smoky and the Bandit with Burt Reynolds and Jackie Gleason...I remember laughing my head off through most of the movie.

What's the last movie you saw on big screen, and who did you see it with?

Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menance. Mick and I went to see it when it was released.

Is there anything showing now or coming out soon that you would like to go see?

Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides

Do you have a bargain theatre or drive-in near you?

We have the Court St Theater which is "cheap" compared to the others around here. I think they still have their $2 matinees. Haven't been there in a while so can't say for sure. There are no more drive ins around here...they closed the last one about 6 years ago.
