My brother is officially moved out now. His daughter and her hubby came in, sorted, and repacked a bunch of stuff, loaded up and headed out today. So now, i'll sort thru the rest, throw most if not all of it out, or burn it, and get my life back on me, not trying to do what he wanted, or how. And no more worrying about how he is, or what is going to happen next. Not my problems any more. Of the stuff that is left, I think I can sell a little of it, like the platform bed i'd made for him, the chest and dresser in his bedroom, maybe a few other odds and ends, and clear out some of my own stuff at the same time. And that will be more difficult than figuring out what to do with his. But I do have room to sort thru some of mine now and I know I have to get rid of a bunch of “stuff”, some of which I haven't seen since we moved in here 3 years ago. And get rid of this leather sofa he insisted he had to have. It was in rough shape when he got it, but it is, or was white and it reclined. Nice for taking an afternoon nap on. But the damned thing is so frigging heavy, I won't be able to move it out the door on my own. But why would I get rid of a leather sofa? It's filthy, and was a bit dirty when he got it, the seams are ripping very badly, and I can't afford to get it recovered.

I've got sheets and some other bedding, a bunch of bath towels, some of which are real good, a drawer full of kitchen knives of different types, his top chest and roll away with a bunch of mechanics tools, a chevy v-6 long block, needs to be rebuilt, but got it all. His boat and motor that he never got titled, and all the stuff he got to go with that and never made use of. I'll just have to see what I come up with.

We never know what life is going to throw at us. And I think it would be a good thing for me to make mine less cluttered, and go ahead and some how dispose of lot that I know I don't need. That way I can concentrate on enjoying what I have, and what ever time I have left to really enjoy it in.

I know how it is when other people's clutter takes over your life. You will feel a lot better when everything in the house belongs to you. Just be careful lifting heavy items while sorting.

my wife luvs it when i springclean , the key is to time it when she is in hospital or something so she can't claim back all the junk i toss out. .who needs ornaments, all they do is attract dust, and who needs 1 000 tupperware containers
when she comes back she always seems to be all flustered and such but i guess thats from all the recouping being in hospital and stuff

I agree with Rev, maybe you can sell some of the stuff..especially the Chevy V-6 block. There are people out there who restore cars and such who are always looking for things like that. Could get some decent money out of it depending on it's condition.

Now you can relax and do things for yourself.
