Here in Ohio, we have a right to carry a gun in public, as long as we have a permit to do so. Ohio is thinking about extending the right to carry them now into bars. This debate where they would be allowed to carry them into bars has been split among party lines.

My question to you is, do you think guns should be allowed into bars where alcohol is served?

I'm a big guns right supporter, and believe that people have the right to bare arms (as long as you're not a convicted felon), and do believe in carrying guns in public (as long as you have a permit). However, I personally do think that they should be left out of bars. Guns and alcohol don't mix!

Carrying a concealed weapon (with a CCW permit) is one thing- if people are allowed to carry a weapon into a bar well... you might as well name all the bars: The O.K. Corral- 'cause given enough drinks, that's about what it'll be like!

If that law passes, I will never go within 5 miles of any bar.

I've worked at a couple and there were enough drunken idiots that needed separated without thinking their gun is bigger than the other guys.

Or them getting drunk and shooting their own foot off when they fall on the dance floor.

I vote No way!!

Guns and alcohol do not mix. Alcohol and any potential weapon do not mix come to think of it. Take the guy who after a couple of drinks thinks he can beat up anyone up in a bar and give him a weapon and see what happens. Wonder who on earth ever thought that was a good idea?

I don't know what the law is now, but when I lived in Az. anyone could carry a gun anyplace they wanted to..
In rural towns it wasn't unusal to see some macho asshole strapped with a big revolver and quick draw rig.
I won a nice rig shooting pool with a local hotshot
I figured if he couldn't shoot the gun any better'n he shot pool, he didn't need it.
Most places in the cities made you check your guns at the door..

So my answer is a resounding NO WAY JOSE`

i'm no fan of gun control, other than to make sure you hit what you are aiming at. but bars, guns, and the general attitude of anyone that thinks they need to show something off after a drink or two, well, it wouldn't be long before that one got repealed. tho, it is one way to help clear up the gene pool, but too many good genes would be lost in the process.

not a good idea at all.

They did this in memphis, but all bars and restaurants here had a choice to put a no gun sign in their windows and doorways, and most have.

That's a GREAT choice. I like it!!!! When anyone does that, it's saying that
THEY will be responsible for your safety. Sooo, if anything crappy does happen,
any potential 'carry' person that might get hurt/killed, will (or heirs) OWN
the bar, restaurant, Insurance company, and whomever had the sign put up.

There are several Banks in Lubbock, that not only welcome concealed carries,
but warn potential robbers, that several of the clerks are also armed.
An Armed society, is a polite society.

I don't think it's a good idea. Alcohol is like crack cocaine to some people, makes them mad crazy. Then they drive when fully loaded, that's bad enough.
