Let's talk about something most or us...at least most of us women HATE..
That dreaded D word.
No, not that one..... I'm talking about diets.

I went to the doctor yesterday and I gained weight since my last visit, which was only a month ago.
Damn Easter candy.... I knew I should have just had rabbit for dinner.

I'm not usually much of a candy eater, but my grand daughters had these darn jelly bellies and reeses pieces that were just calling my name.
Evidently 4 pounds of them.
And I didn't want them to go stale.....
Well that and the constant rain and not being able to get out and go anywhere...

So, now I have to get those couple pounds back off.....and about a million more. Well it seems like that many some days.
I think I have been on just about every diet known to man...woman...and aliens.

I told Griz I am seriously considering the lap band surgery. I am lucky enough that my ins will pay for it.
But the protein supplements that you have to take a few times a day, everyday, for the rest of your life are expensive and ins won't pay for them. And they're not sure I would be a candidate for it.

So, I'm glad it's going to be fresh vegetable season pretty soon. Well after all of our floods that is. Anyone want to reserve a place in my ark that I'm ready to build? (no this has nothing to do with May 21st)

So now I'm looking forward to lots of veggies..... that should help me a little bit.

So, have you ever been on a diet? When was your first one...and your last?
What types of diets have you tried?
Yes, I know they are not supposed to be diets, they are supposed to be modified way of eating or life changes.
What worked or works the best for you?
Or are you one of the lucky ones that is happy with your body just the way it is?

And to think when I was younger I couldn't gain weight...be careful what you wish for I guess.

I have found that my weight has little to do with what I eat but more about my lifestyle as I have been mostly a vegetarian for years except for eating chicken or fish one or two times a week

When I lived in New York where everyone either walks to takes the subway and I lived on the 3rd floor of a walk up brownstone I weighed about 106 pounds.

The first weight gain started when I was in my last marraige and was desperately unhappy. Once we got divorced the weight came off as I was out doing things again. Then I moved in here to take care of my mom and cannot leave her alone to get out and do things so the weight came back on again. During that time my diet did not change at all, only my lifestyle.

Diets are also easier to maintain when you just do them and have a lot of other things going on in your life so you are not thinking about dieting.

As for my body, it is what it is. I really do not think about it very much and sometimes think others around me are more concerned about it than I am.

I can soooo relate to this! I had lost 22.8 pounds the month of January, February, not so good, just 3 more pounds gone. March and April I don't think I even stepped on the scales. But considering I had last seen my fibro doc in December, when I went in last week for my quarterly check up she was soooo pleased to see that I had lost "12"pounds! I didn't have the heart or the guts to tell her I had lost much much more, but gained so much of it back!! I've just eaten more junk lately as I seem to be constantly pressed for time to get everything done that I need to get done before my big move in July. As mom has been back in TX since the middle of February, I've just been shopping and cooking for one, It's just alot easier to head through a drive thru on the way home from work! This added to the Easter candy, yeah, it's been murder on my weight loss plan!

I've made a promise to myself that I will do much better in the coming weeks! Hopefully my move to WA will get me back to 'business' on my dieting!

No No lapband . Knows 5 people well who have had it. All 5 have had nothing but trouble. There life styles has changed for the worse. Start a food dairy everthing you eat even just a taste . You would be amazed and then you can make your choices. =whether it will be cutting back cutting out or making it lighter fare . And moving just walk . I Thought I was moving quite a bit being at work and running but your body just get use to it itself so you must move more and yiu can break it up .

I got put on medication for high cholesterol and blood pressure last summer along with getting a colonoscopy. I got read the riot act about modifying my diet. I did this by cutting down on some foods that weren't good for me, eating more foods that were, and smaller portions overall. The numbers for the cholesterol and blood pressure improved dramatically to the point that I no longer have to take the medications However, my weight is exactly what it has been for ten years, 250 pounds.
