And I've actually got a weekend day off from work! That doesn't happen too often.

It's day 2 without rain here. Flood warnings and watches have cancelled finally. Speaking of the floods around here...I can't help but wonder just where peoples fucking brains are at times. There is a news story about how the Midland County (yes Bruce, there is a Midland County here in Michigan ) fire department had to rescue two dogs trapped in a kennel as flood waters were rising. There is a video, and you can occasionally hear one, or both, dogs cry out a couple of times. Yes, the dogs were saved, they are fine. But the owner of the dogs...it's only been on the news the last 2 days that there were flood watches/warnings and this moron couldn't think enough to get the dogs to safety? Had to take a neighbor seeing the animals predicament to call the fire department before the jackass showed up to do something? Here is a link to the story...Dogs rescued. Just click on the headline "Dogs Rescued From Tittabawassee Floodwaters". It's about a 5 minute video. And the owner does eventually show up...when the fire department is already there. And you can hear some of the people watching give him hell. Like I said, I can't help but wonder where people's brains are sometimes. And yes, the owner is a Michigan native, grew up and lives in the area...so it's not like he isn't aware of how these rivers can flood with heavy rains. I just hope the fire department gave him the bill for their time to do what he should have done in the first place, which is get those dogs out of that kennel BEFORE the waters got so damned high!

Anyway, the little "lake" in my backyard is finally drying out. And the grass has all of the sudden just sprouted up! Yep, going to be mowing the lawn soon. Probably by Monday the ground should be dry enough and I can get the lawn mower out and get the grass cut. Starting to see a lot of the leaves on the trees around here sprouting. Yeah, yeah, I know...some of you in your areas had that happen weeks ago...let's remember Michigan is up further north where winter is a stubborn bastard about letting go. In fact, I noticed on the weather forecast today that it looks like Northern Minnesota, by the Canadian border, is still getting snow. Glad it isn't here...we're going to be in the mid to upper 60's today. I know...Florida is in the 80's or 90's..shush! Let me enjoy the fact we're finally at seasonal temps. I ever mention I don't like winter?

Today I'll take the van in for an oil change, maybe take a short walk at the wild life refuge. I'm sure it's too wet to take the full hike, so I'll probably just stick with a little stroll. Just going to feel good to get out there again. Here's a link to some info about it: Wildlife Refuge I love it out there, it's so quiet, peaceful. You can for a while forget about the daily stresses of life, until the damned cell phone goes off. Oh well. I love the 5 mile hike trail..it's a "loop" trail. 2 1/2 miles to the observation deck where you can use the field telescope to check things out, and then 2 1/2 miles back where you are walking along the river and can see the water fowl, occasional deer. OMG..last summer, while walking out there with my sister, I remember hearing thundering hooves up ahead on that trail, and around the bend came two fawns just having a good time running, they ran right past us, and my sister and I froze and the doe came around the bend following her young. She stopped when she saw us, then ran past us. That was awesome! Maybe I'll get to see a doe and her fawns again this year.

Anyway..hope everyone has a good Saturday. Play nice!

Good read

Tittabawassee

I may be the one guilty of laughing when nothing is funny, I laughed my ass off when I saw the name of that place I assume the name comes from a native American language term. Perhaps ii means look at those nice boobs or something

It sounds like you have a nice weekend in store for you. It is always nice when you can be off when other people are as opposed to being off in the middle of the week when everyone else is at work. The flip side is having to to miss out on things on the weekend due to your work schedule.

Damn Bruce ... I think in flood waters I'd rather be with an old lady with saggy dried up tits because when they rise you know it's time to reach higher ground. Young tits float anyway so you will drown without warning.
