Two weeks ago, I took my brother up to Galesburg to catch a train to Salt Lake City to visit his daughter. Took two try’s, he dawdled around the first time and we missed the train by about 15 minutes. So, he got another reservation for Sunday, and we came home, got rested a little Saturday, and got out of here in plenty of time Sunday morning. Now Galesburg is over 300 miles from here, so I made sure he knew, if we aren't rolling by 9 a.m. , I ain't driving just to miss the damned thing again. That is over 11 hours of driving, round trip. Anyway, we both got up and were there with a couple hours to spare.

It's been different around here, but peaceful, and I’ve gotten a few things done that need to be taken care of. And now for the really good part, his daughter is going to keep him for an indefinite time. He is doing much better there, and seems to be happy, so I’m all for it. As much for him as for me. There is more, but for now, I’ll just have to see what happens in the future, he may wind up back here, or he may stay there, I don't know at this point in time.

So that is the short of what is going on with me, now I have to figure out if I can afford this place on my own for a while, or what i'm going to do. i could use a female roomie, but anyone there that could put up with me?

That sounds like good news and will take a load off of your shoulders.

Hopefully you can either afford it ....or a special roommate will appear.

Enjoy your solitude. I'm glad he is doing well there with his daughter.

Maybe that was part of his problem, missing his daughter. Glad to see he's doing better and is happy. Glad to see you're more relaxed. Hopefully you will be able to afford your place. And who knows, maybe you will find that special room mate.

i am enjoying not having him here for now, and this next week would be a great one, it looks like to have some female companionship around here. we are getting a storm moving thru and the bad weather is going to persist for quite a while. great time to be indoors snuggling and seeing what we can do when the power goes off. even if i have to cut the breakers off. rain, wind, thunder, and flash flood warnings.

Perhaps, getting into the shop armed with serenity without distraction to do some woodworking might be a good start?

You deserve a break. Enjoy.
