RJ's post below this one got me thinking. One of my aunts had a church wedding. But, that was the only one that I had ever been to. I then gave it further thought and outside of my brother and his wife, I could not think of anybody else I knew, friends or family, that had a church wedding. I am certain that there must be somebody I have known that had a church wedding, but still, nobody is coming to mind

In the south the tradition when I was a kid was the big church wedding with at least 6 bridesmaids and groomsmen not to mention the ushers, ring bearers and flower girls. I have been one of those too.

Every summer the wedding season would start and there were summers when I was a child that I was in someone's wedding just about every weekend. By the time I got married I did not need a rehearsal I knew what to do and was telling everyone else what to do. Would have been nice if some people could have followed directions but that is another story.

In the south almost everyone I knew had the big church wedding unti it came to me. Lightning probably would have struck the church if I tried to have a wedding there.

My best friend had been married twice, her first wedding was a Justice of the Peace, here second wedding was a church wedding. Her was Catholic. She has been divorced now for close to 9 years. My youngest sister, married twice, did hers the opposite, her first wedding was in a church, and her second, just recently, was at a Justice of the Peace.

Mick and I had discussed a wedding outside in the Japanese Gardens here in Saginaw with a Justice of the Peace. Japanese Gardens in Saginaw

The pictures don't do it justice. It is a beautiful garden..I have always loved going to it..so peaceful and serene.

My Momma had a church wedding a few years back.. her fourth and hopefully final one. All my friends got married in churches.. funny, only one of em took. I got married at my now ex mother in law's house by my aunt who was the jp at the time.. she sentenced me to life but let me off for bad behavior.

I had a church wedding both times. If I get married again, I want to be married outside, at about 11 P.M. (you read that right........late night wedding), both of us wearing jeans.

I have never been to a church wedding. All my friends had outdoor weddings. My own was at a historical mansion here in town they rent out for special events.
