I have been a little busy this last week, but not overly. Due to things going on here at home and the part time driving job I had, I haven’t felt like putting much to word, so I didn't. Last week we had some wonderful weather, and I enjoyed not having to wear a coat out of the house every time I walked out the door. Then it cooled off a little, and a little more then, Friday I had to take a load to the St. Louis area, early morning, cold, and nasty, got snowed on up there. In the middle of the early morning traffic. ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH. As Charlie Brown was wont to say. Any way, was supposed to grab another load, take it up and then they were going to get me back as the truck was staying up there. BUT, due to poor communication, and other things, the whole thing turned into a royal CF. Got back to get my second load, the warehouse workers all had gone to lunch, the gate pass I had didn't work, and two more tucks behind me. And all the drivers involved that had started early were running out of hours from just sitting waiting for others to get something done, or make a decision on what to do next. I wound up just coming home and letting one of the other drivers from that area have my load. It wasn't worth the hassle I was going thru to put any more effort into it.

The situation with my brother has gone thru some changes, and for now, we are at least speaking. I had a major brain fart and got to looking into putting him on a train to go see his daughter and grand kids in Salt Lake. If he were in decent health, and had some strength, I could put him on a train not far from here, but that would involve going from the train to a bus, then to another train. Not a viable option really. So, best alternative all the way around, haul him up to Galesburg, Il, put him on there and it is is a straight no changes situation. Just have to drive about 5 hours or so up there, then back. Then do it again when he decides to come back. But, no train changes, no buses, and with a walker, easier for him and me. It will also give me the vacation I need from him, and vice versa.

So, I guess life is pretty much the same with me, even with any changes that seem to happen, under it all, sos. But I do have a roof over my head, food to keep my belly full, clothes to cover my ass, and heat to keep me warm. I have my shop, decent if not good health, hospice to take care of the medical and to check on bro, so life isn't as bad as it is for many. It is all the little things that pile up that often make it seem bad.
