Pervia and AMD, when you cull out the spammers, is very much a small village in cyber space. People are separated by great distance in advancing friendships in 3D for many of us.
I personally love to go to the phone. The average person speaks at 90 WPM according to my college professors. My keyboard speed is 29 WPM...on a good day
But I really love taking it a step further to the phone. There, keyboarding limitations are irrelevant, plus you have the wondrous element of spontaneity!
You also come to be acquainted with somebody in a different fashion. You may find that over the phone, their persona is quite different than what your perceptions were in your interactions. I also feel that the phone call builds a link and reinforces the online friendships.
So, my questions are:
1. How many Pervians have you chatted with on the phone?
2. Were they on the phone what you expected based upon your online perceptions?
3. If you had a positive rapport, how often do you call one another?
4. Does speaking on the phone increase your bond of friendship?
My responses:
1. How many Pervians have you chatted with on the phone?
A lot, 25 to 30, I am guessing
2. Were they on the phone what you expected based upon your online perceptions?
As a whole, they exceeded my expectations with much more personality on the phone. There were a lot of chatty Cathys. A few, men, were disappointing as they were much more boring on the phone than I anticipated.
3. If you had a positive rapport, how often do you call one another?
I don't call them very often, they don't call me very often. If a friend is in tough times I do. I am always there for them 24/7 and they have my number. I check in with them every three or four months or so (yeah, I know that sounds shallow), but they have my number. I think that it is much more that we know one another is there to lend an ear than anything else.
4. Does speaking on the phone increase your bond of friendship?
Absolutely

1. How many Pervians have you chatted with on the phone? I know I must have talked with between 55-75 if not a little more possibly. I guess I would be considered somewhat of a phone slut!
2. Were they on the phone what you expected based upon your online perceptions? For the most part. There were only like a handfull that weren't like anything I thought.
3. If you had a positive rapport, how often do you call one another? Quite often actually. I have stayed in touch with a lot of these friends over the years.
4. Does speaking on the phone increase your bond of friendship? Yep, sure does

1. How many Pervians have you chatted with on the phone? Three
2. Were they on the phone what you expected based upon your online perceptions? One was not, two were even better than I expected.
3. If you had a positive rapport, how often do you call one another? Depends on what is going on in our lives. I am friends on Facebook with both of them and have met them in person. I consider them very special friends that I met in a different way.
4. Does speaking on the phone increase your bond of friendship? It really depends on the individual.

1. How many Pervians have you chatted with on the phone? About 15-20 or so through the years.
2. Were they on the phone what you expected based upon your online perceptions? Most were. A few were not.
3. If you had a positive rapport, how often do you call one another? Some of us still keep in contact several times a week. Others, while we've drifted apart some, I still consider them very good close friends.
4. Does speaking on the phone increase your bond of friendship? Definitely. There's more emotion in the inflections of a voice over the phone than can ever be expressed by words on the screen.

1. How many Pervians have you chatted with on the phone? one..well, two if you count his wife
2. Were they on the phone what you expected based upon your online perceptions? they went above and beyond..in a good way
3. If you had a positive rapport, how often do you call one another? I owe my "phone shyness" and the suckiness of day to day survival for lack of any calling
4. Does speaking on the phone increase your bond of friendship? it does help, because you can only express yourself so much through text

I have talked to one blogger on the phone. expected??? Sounded the same as he blogs but kinder.... all others were pervians, but not bloggers, 6 I think...men...still email or chat with them...really great friends with one...we were supposed to become as one, but time made that fade.... I think it has been a great time and will probably end up meeting some.

1. How many Pervians have you chatted with on the phone?
1
2. Were they on the phone what you expected based upon your online perceptions?
Yep
3. If you had a positive rapport, how often do you call one another?
I've got bare bones, very basic, phone service, so I can't make long distance calls.
4. Does speaking on the phone increase your bond of friendship?
I think it does. It makes it more "real" to hear and have a voice to attach to the person.

1. How many Pervians have you chatted with on the phone?
Maybe 5 over the years.
2. Were they on the phone what you expected based upon your online perceptions?
No. Most were less blustery, less macho and less open.
3. If you had a positive rapport, how often do you call one another? Rarely
4. Does speaking on the phone increase your bond of friendship?
With most, no. Mostly because I'm at fault....just not a phone talking kinda person.

1. How many Pervians have you chatted with on the phone? 11...I think.
2. Were they on the phone what you expected based upon your online perceptions? For the most part, yes.
3. If you had a positive rapport, how often do you call one another? I stay in touch with a few, but we don't call each other that often, with the exception of Griz and Dayna.
4. Does speaking on the phone increase your bond of friendship? Yes. More of their personality is heard that reading it. Would have never met Griz if we hadn't become so close over the phone.

More of their personality is heard that reading it. Supposed to be "is heard other than reading it." Don't know where my mind went...
