The Cost Of Shaving....

I had to make a trip to WalMart last night and grab a few things that were needed around here....... fabric softener, light bulbs, furnace filter, deodorant, razors, etc..
And by the time I got to the register I about had a heart attack. I mean I had kept an itemized amount, and I was very close, but once it was said and I actually had to PAY for it............

Could someone explain to me why razors cost so darn much?
I'm either going to have to figure out a way to buy them in bulk or go on a shaving strike and start braiding my legs with pretty little pink bows.

At that point you may read Griz's profile and see that it says single again......

But since I don't want that happening and I can't imagine braids all over my legs, not to mention other places, I guess I'll just pay the price, quit complaining about it and have less hair.....
Oh the joys of being female...trim it, tweeze it, shave it.
Anyone need some pretty little pink bows.........

They're a little higher but the Venus brand last so much longer than the others til it makes them cheaper in the long run. But yeah, their high!

Buy in bulk... it may cost more upfront but the 'per cost' for each razor would be cheaper!

Besides, most of the guys (definitely myself) love completely shaved ladies ya know... well, except your head... although..................... hmmm... maybe I'll get back to you on that!

Considering the bad fortune you two have had in getting together due to inclement weather, wouldn't it be cheaper and less of a hassle to not worry being a fuzzy wuzzy until the day before you two actually connect in person

I can't explain it as it isn't a problem for me. I go to Dollar General or Family Dollar and get the store brand package of ten or twelve Bic knock off disposable razors for a buck. That has been the going price for years.

I rarely go to Wally World as it has been my experience that for routine items and groceries there are places that have much better prices on store brands. The only things I get there regularly are a couple OTC medications and shaving gel under their Equate brand.

But then again I have loads of choices in where to buy things. Many people think that there is little real alternative sometimes to Wally World in rural areas. I have not found that to be completely true. On the items that they carry, Aldi's (in 31 states east of Texas), Dollar Tree (all of the lower 48 states), and Dollar General (virtually all states in the eastern and central time zones) generally kicks Wally World's ass.

What Bruce said.....

'cept he forgot Big Lot's.

IMHO, many at Wally, seem to be pissed at life, and will take it out on you.

Yeah, I forgot to mention Big Lots (they are in 47 states). They are the first place I go for electronics, small household appliances, office furniture, linens, housewares, etc.

Nair costs more than razors There's also Everything for A Dollar Stores, Save-A-Lot and if you go to google and type in razor coupons there are a lot of sites out there offering them. If you use a specific brand go to their website and see if they offer coupons ~ a lot of brand sites do !! I get free samples and coupons all the time from brand sites.

The 99ยข Only Store is by far my favorite but they closed the one one near me (Aldi moved in) and there isn't one within ten miles of me They are only in five states though with Texas being the furthest east.

Get yourself a straight razor and a good leather strop. The initial investment ($100+) will pay for itself as both razor and strop will last you the rest of your life.

Or you could just go "natural".

I forgot to mention I'm also seeing my orthopedic surgeon every week until last week of April.
And, it drives me CRAZY.... lol

Venus is what I usually buy. But in the long run I'm not just buying them for myself...Here my grand daughter uses them (she's still with me for school), and my daughter was using them until she found a job.
I left some at Griz's and his daughters used them.

Good idea! Now why didn't I think of that??? thanks, lov....

I'm short enough now, I would probably cut my legs off...

Thanks for the ideas everyone.....

I hear you! The only way I save is going over the bridge to west memphis, Ark and the tax is almost 5% cheaper than here. That helps alot on costly necesseties.

I wonder if the Germans had that mentality around 60 yrs ago. My ex was 6 yrs younger than me & she shaved her legs, arm pits, & crotch. She was as full blood German as one can get but yet she was of the newer generation. Anyway I caught a whiff of that Nair shit & it stinks like a fucking skunk to me. Drifting way off here I knew a girl in my neighborhood who had the nickname of skunk cunt .... poor girl .... perhaps she can blame it on the Nair.

I had a couple of girlfriends and a wife that used it They never stunk, but then again, they showered once or twice a day

It is outrageous what they charge for that stuff! I have to get some replacement blades for my razor soon. Sometimes I seriously think about just not shaving all together...but, I hate, hate, hate, how it itches when it grows back!

I use a Lady Remington electric shaver. I think it cost around $30...and I don't have to change the batteries (AA) very often. I've saved a lot of money since switching to my electric shaver.
