The article wraps around the ingredients of course but, after reading the ingredient list, I'd have to say: Nupe- close, maybe 99.99%!

Reason is: they give all of the ingredient amounts accept for- sugar:

The recipe:

Fluid extract of Coca: 3 drams USP
Citric acid: 3 oz
Caffeine: 1 oz
Sugar: 30 (unclear quantity) (Awwww... waa, waa, waa!)
Water: 2.5 gal
Lime juice: 2 pints, 1 quart
Vanilla: 1 oz
Caramel: 1.5 oz or more for color

Otherwise, the article is kinda of an interesting read!

So....that's what they put in that stuff.

Wonder what the "30 sugar" is?

...interesting. I drink a coke every now and a blue moon....meaning, hardley ever. I love Dr. Pepper, but that makes you fat too. Sprite is a good product and I have one of those more regularly than the other 2. All in all, sodas laced with sugar are not a good nutient value so i try to stay away from them.
Secret ingredients are meant to be secret. You have to admire their dillagence with keeping from the general populous. Most can't keep a secret.
I have a secret ingredient that I use in my chocolate martinis. I will never tell, but of course I don't have a patent. It's just fun having a secret when mixing drinks and people ask how did you make it so good. I use it in my espresso martinis sometimes too. I make the best.

It might be laced with crack according to this recipe but it seems like RDL can put the real happiness back in it . In 1903 they took the good stuff out. Each glass had nine milligrams of cocaine in it. A case a beer, a fifth of whiskey, & a case of coke I'm sure was one Hell of an old timers party.

Interesting read Som. I don't drink very many soft drinks anymore...and tend to stick with Sprite if I have one at all. I do seem to recall them changing some of the ingredients a while back...but I'm fuzzy on the details surrounding this event...and I'm not even sure if it actually happened. It just seemed to me that Coke tasted different once I reached my 20's...and I found I no longer preferred it.

You know honestly just last week I picked up a bottle of seven-up because I just normally see sprite on the shelves & I always liked 7 better but it didn't taste nothing like it used to. Well that is just about every beverage on the market these days. The makers of products seem to think they can create our taste buds to their liking & don't seem to care that we thought everything was just fine in it's original form. Adding all them strange lemon twists & funny tastes fucks up a good stiff drink. ....

Fluid extract of Coca, from the leaves of the coca plant from where cocaine is extracted. But they took out every last bit of the good stuff, the active alkaloid found in cocaine. Recently trace amounts were found in RedBull cola.

never have been much of a coke fanatic, too fizzy for me.

one unusually good drink it iced tea.
the name itself used to be a turn off as I don't drink hot tea so why would anyone want to drink it cold.

but after giving it a try I was pleasantly surprised
