as most of you bloggers know, i'm not a sports fan. i very seldom even read a news story involving "athletes", or sports figures, but tonight i was browsing the headlines and low and behold, the nfl is getting sued, along with coboys stadium and jerry jones.

i'll let those of you that are interested figure it out, personally, i think it's hilarious. they may have a legitimate case, but i think it's really just a bunch of wankers and cry babies that got their little feelers stepped on. oh friggin well.

and i see whapper is back, after a brief respite from his drivel. i was almost beginning to enjoy going thru the blogs again. i may not comment on many, but i do read them.

and, my brother is now getting hospice care, he decided not to take any treatments for the cancer. since he now has someone to fawn over him, and put up with is fake good nature, he is happy as a pig in shit. but what can you say about someone that insists on continuing to do exactly what they were before, refuses to make use of the equipment, and help to do better. or do anything that would make their life better even for a short time. tho i think i'm going to have to put up with him for quite a while. the cancer is small, and hasn't spread at this point. but again, not moving around much, laying in bed doing nothing, not giving up smoking, and getting more and more lazy.

i told him i'm ready to start calling him by our old mans name. and that old sob, i detested before he died and wish now i'd gone ahead and pissed on his grave while i was in texas. then told his idiot family about it. i'm not fond of them either.

so, am i frustrated, aggravated, pissed off, and ready to strangle him, yes. and it's only going to get worse. thankfully, it looks like the cold is going to break here soon, and i can get out to the shop and start playing again.

if it would really do any good, i think i'd be getting a lot better acquainted with the captain, but i know all too well, that road is a dead end. so instead, you folks that read these blogs of mine get a glimpse of my life. and maybe a glimmer of why i'm so damned crusty at times.

First, I'm sorry to hear your brother still doesn't understand that his condition affects you as well as him whether it's for the short or long term.

As for the Super Bowl debacle... what happened was that several hundred people paid good money to attend the game. For many of them, it was a once in a life time event. They saved and planned on seeing something millions of people wish they could do.

There was ample time for the temporary seating to be safely installed, but hours before game time they still weren't complete and could not pass a safety inspection. The NFL and Jerry Jones would have been stupid to allow anyone to sit in those seats. However, they could have notified people of this problem in advance... they had a record of the ticket holders.

The amount the NFL offered to compensate people with these tickets did not begin to cover travel, lodging, meals, time away from work nor make up for missing the Super Bowl in the way envisioned.

About 100 of the ticket holders were allowed to sit in seats that were not filled, but the rest were relegated to a STO (standing room only) area which didn't provide much of a view.

I'm sure it depends upon one's view as to what is important in this situation, but I think these people we treated unfairly and have the right to claim compensation. Especially since Jerry Jones is such a jerk and doesn't give a shit about ordinary people... and these were the people who were affected, not the rich SOBs in the suites!

You're allowed to be crusty right now... it's only natural considering the situation. I hope things will improve, but I will not offer platitudes because it won't help. Keep blogging... it's a good way to get rid of the poop for awhile anyway.

I don't think you are ever crusty. You are a man living with someone who rather give up than work at being better. it is hard on you because you want a good life but are obligated to take care of the the ones you love. I wish you well. hugs...you are a great person. don't forget who you are...and let be what is....

It is something that you are going to have to endure and get through as there is no way around it.

If I was a ticket holder for the Super Bowl, and found out when I got there I couldn't get in, or, allowed Standing Room Only, I'd be pissed off too. Especially as Peechy says that there was ample time to put in the extra seating.

And if you are "crusty" at times, most here will understand. It's an enormous and frustrating responsibility to care for a loved one, especially a loved one who doesn't want to take better care of them self. I've seen it first hand myself, so I get what you're feeling.

At least when the warmer weather arrives and you can get out of the house, that will hopefully alleviate some of that frustration.
