I didn't realize he was in his 70s. Singer Gunnar Nelson, a son of Rick Nelson, issued a statement Wednesday, saying his uncle's death was "a great loss to the Nelson family." I don't remember singer Gunnar Nelson being mentioned over the years before! But then, I'm not a big celebrity fan anyway! David Nelson RIP David Nelson. 	He was the good guy in the family and did a lot for Gunnar and his brother (Rick Nelson's boys) after their mom got strung out on drugs and their dad died in a plane crash. He and his brother tried a musical career as teen heart throbs under the name of the Nelsons. They were a flash in the pan.
