i just read a news story about tornadoes today, and we are under a sever thunderstorm and tornado watch. i was going to get a start on the new wireing for the shop, but it's wet out and i don't do electric work in the rain, even with the breakers pulled. had a passing thought for a new project, but delayed that till i can get some good wood cut. i think i have some slabs out there that will straighten out ok.
so instead of doing anything productive today, so far all i have done is pop in and out of here, looking at a couple of blogs, drink coffee, run to the bathroom, make a fresh pot, drink some more, and look at the weather on NOAA. what a way to end the year huh?
and since my retirement check hasn't hit the bank yet, i know what i'll be doing and where i'll be tonight. sitting right here, playing free cell and hearts, occasionally looking in here, maybe commenting, most likely not. and maybe get bored enough to go out and play in the shop. it isn't going to be cold tonight, so it won't be bad out there. i'm wondering if i can make a small counter top pie safe, punched tin panels and all. i got a bunch of coffee cans to make the panels out of, but with my artistic abilities being what they aren't, i'll be surprised if they turn out at all. so instead of a fancy punched picture, i may have to go with just a grid of holes.
oh well, ya'll have a great year, and take care

I saw where a tornado killed three people in Arkansas. Stay indoors, be safe, Mike.

Yes, it is a strange New Year's Eve here in Michigan too. Right now it's 46 degrees. I guess it got up to 50 earlier. And I could not believe it when I heard thunder storms rumbling through today. Yeah, thunder storms. Of course, this January thaw will be ending soon and it will be back to the colder weather again. Most of the snow is gone now. But, I'm sure we will get more of that before winter is done.
Me, I'm going to meet up with my sister, and she and I are going to meet up with our friend and bring in the New Year at her (our friend) house.
Take care, Happy New Year to you and your brother. Stay safe.

There is a simple solution to that. Go on the internet and look up a pattern for putting studs on clothes in a design. Print it out. Lay it over the metal and every where a stud was supposed to go on the pattern you punch a hole. That should work very well.

since i posted this blog, we have had a couple of real good showers, heard some thunder, the internet connection was down for a few minutes, and i've accomplished nothing other than to look at some celtic drawings i have for ideas on the punch patterns if i do make a pie safe. the temps are unusually high right now, and i have a window open to keep it a little cooler in here. but tonight is jsut another night at the ranch.
hope everyone is having a good time. no matter what you are doing.
