If I owned a DVR the list would include:

1) The Joy of Painting (with Bob Ross ... it's weird and hypnotic)
2) Elvira's Movie Macabre (bad horror movies and bewbies...they go great together)
3) Nature and Nova
4) Any football (that's REAL football, what Americans call soccer, not the NFL) and the Giro d'Italia
5) Arthur

No DVR, just drop in to say that Diners Drive-ins and Dives is torture on an empty stomach, but hilarious when Fieri hides his disgust for less that delicious food.

Not many, since the advent of, er, "reality" television, but...
"NCIS" is a must. "Jeopardy" is a close second, and "How I Met Your Mother" is
becoming a favorite, too.

You said a mouthful there, my friend!

New guy jumping in, feel free to tell me to get lost

When it comes to drama's I think the best show on TV is "Sons of Anarchy" Its pretty much Hamlet on motorcycles, and has some great writing and actors. "Justified", which is also on FX is pretty awesome as well.

For sitcoms I would definitely say "Big Bang Theory" is my favorite, but maybe thats because it appeals to my inner geek.

I also am hooked to all of the reality shows on History Channel. Things like "pawn Stars" "American Pickers" et al. Its veg out viewing without the vapidity of most reality shows.

Hope this helps!

I don't have a dvr..but if I did:

General Hospital, and movies that I would like to see. Oh, can't forget the Smoking Gun series on Tru Tv. Some of that stuff is hilarious.

Another thing is, with shows on cable channels that are not movies, it is not like you won't have 100 opportunities within the next year or two to view them.

I have a complete cable package, On Demand, Direct TV and Blue Ray. As the new movies become available to download I may do that just for the library, but I usually buy the better movies when they hit the stores. On Demand is free, Starz, HBO, etc, the complete football package enabling me to watch any game as well as picture in picture to watch my bets.
