I got called into work this morning. While having my coffee, I had the news on. Had a little dusting of snow over night. Enough that on some of the major expressways it made a thin layer of ice in some areas. And typical of the first snow fall in Michigan, there was the usual reports of fender benders and such.
A 2 mile or so section of one expressway, it goes through town, I-675, was closed down due to a number of fender benders, spin outs, and roll overs. I-675 Why? Because people thought they could drive just as fast on the road as if it were dry. Most of us in the northern "refrigerator" states are familiar with the term "black ice"..which was the cause of this mornings headaches. It's a very thin film of ice that forms on roadways when a light snow falls, melts, and then freezes on the pavement. It cannot really be "seen" except for that familiar sheen it has on the roads.
Basically, what we got today...would be no concern to drivers in January, but, I guess people forgot it's now December. Btw....my traitorous dogs were thrilled this morning to see snow on the grass.  Tazz was funny...she ran out the door...skidded to a stop, and put her nose to the snow on the deck and sniffed and ended up sneezing.  Goofy dog!!! I checked on them a few minutes later, and Princess was rolling in the snow, and Tazz and Buddy were chasing each other around. Just my luck...dogs who love snow while I cuss about it! Although...this snow does have me wanting to dig out my Christmas stuff and decorate around here.

Yep, we got it oo...it's still coming down at a very slow pace. Not supposed to have any accumulation until Sat.
But it's cold and windy.... I hate cold weather... 
You forgot to add how many idiots seem to think they can master black ice at any speed....... our tow drivers just love those people...as long as no one is seriously injured that is.

Meanwhile here we already got more snow than a normal entire winter  My whippets now think going outside is torture even just to go potty and my dobe thinks she is going to eat it all she loves munching on snow an ice

I love snow...it brings a calming peace to the mayhem in life. I particurally love it when I wake upin the middle of the night and it is a surprise. I blissfully fall back to sleep and dream...it is soothing and I love the next morning. It brings a stillness to my world.Oh how I wish it would snow...I need some stillness.

OMG it was bad here also! I come home on 65N and at every bridge it was ice  I followed a food semi most of the way home. Every time we crossed a bridge his trailer would go to the right I got to the same spot and my rear end of the van would go to the right also Scared the beJesus outta me! Took me an hour hey no problem the house will be there when I get home.

They are getting unaccustomed snow in England this week. Someone slid in the ice and snow today and hit my hubby, G. He's ok, a little sore, but nothing serious. The car, however, appears to be totaled

We had some flurries yesterday... and it's been cold today... was 24 here this morning and not really supposed to be too warm for the next week... 50 on saturday but in the 20' 30's and up to 40 with winds! brrrrrr
