To be honest I don't recall anything special for breakfast on the holidays like you outline, certainly not on Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving I don't recall breakfast even being served. I know it isn't with my friends that gather together.

When my grandmother was alive she prepared blueberry pancakes, ham, bacon, eggs, hash browns, biscuits, sausage and gravy, coffee and hot coco for me... she served at 6am... so if you wanted to eat you better not be late!
After that the kitchen was off limits while she and the other women in the family finished preparing the feast which was served promptly at 2:00 pm.
IF I do breakfast it's a fritata, similar to your daughter's casserole, ham or bacon, English muffins and fruit... it's yummy and easy to prepare.
I enjoy the communal kitchen... there's something about cooking with family or friends that makes sharing a meal more enjoyable.
Happy Thanksgiving and blessings to you and your family.

It is very rare that I ever eat breakfast, and never on holidays.

I very seldom eat breakfast at home, just coffee, but for some reason when I travel I often make it the biggest meal of the day

Christmas morning it was venison sausage, frybread with honey to hold you over until the lunch was ready when I was cooking for my kids. Now I don't think any of them eat breakfast because they know for lunch there will be enough food to feed a small army.

Well... this year, my daughter is celebrating T-Day on the following Saturday 'cause my grand daughter can't make it in from college 'til then! So, my breakfast will be at my usual restaurant where I have breakfast every Sat and Sun which is: 3 eggs over easy, American fries, nice slice of ham, Texas toast and all the coffee I want- all cooked the way I like it, for $5.71 + a $2.00 tip! The waitresses know what I want when I come in! In this case, the male has the women trained instead of the other way around!

Always my dad would get up early and make a big breakfast... Bacon eggs... either pancakes or biscuits and gravy.. all home made... Now it has come upon my husband to do it for my family.....

I simply adore holiday breakfasts.
A small breakfast would consist of hot coco and some flavored coffee...along with an assortment of fruits...cheeses...and yummy breads.
A large breakfast would include pancakes or biscuits and gravy...along with peppered bacon...eggs...and grits.
I'm soooooo hungry now.
