Should the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) be allowed to pat down you and others at the airport before you take flight? If not, are you more incline to do a body scan instead?

I hear everyday of all the bitching going on about how people are being violated during full pat downs.

I personally don't have a problem with a full pat down, as long as it's a female TSA agent doing it to me. Can you even request to a the pat down by the opposite sex? Seriously though, I do believe you have to take some precautions. That would also give me piece of mind.

Body scans can see every part of your body, and are somewhat of a health risk if done over 3 minutes because of the radiation involved.

How do you feel about the pat downs compared to the full body scans?

Should there be profiling with searching certain people that look like middle easterners?
I have no problem with this whatsoever. It's smart, and it's just good old common sense at that.

As long as the pattors are good looking chicks, this pattee isn't going to complain!

Far as I'm concerned, whatever it takes to help weed these people out, is fine with me! You get one chance to make it to your destination and one chance to make it back- no room for error or for being concerned about people's rights- especially if they could be from other countries!

Only if the agent is a good looking woman and I can reciprocate

Seriously, we aren't privy to what the government agencies know and I include other nations. They have found things recently. You have to trust that they are doing their best, at least I do. I tend to feel that all of this is necessary on international flights. But I don't recall any problems with the previous way of checking on domestic flights.

I can see where this new process could be a real time consuming cluster fuck over the holidays on domestic flights. Additionally, I have a feeling that beyond the frustration and inconvenience to passengers that there are going to be costs passed along to consumers to accommodate all of the expense in doing this.

In a way the terrorists win. One bad package with nasty contents gets dropped off anonymously at a UPS drop off and a whole chain reaction begins affecting millions of people and costing millions of of bucks. Simple economic terrorism.

Truthfully I'm not real sure where I stand on this subject.
However, I will also say I have never flown....as of yet... so at this point it doesn't effect me either.
But I don't like being touched by people I don't like or know.

It depends on if HE is good at it or not. If it's a female, I don't want any lingering.

Seriously, I don't have a problem with it, but I know others do. I prefer caution, but it does slow things down and the cost is enormous. You can bet that if the airlines don't increase their cost the airport will assess a fee... the cost has to be recooped one way or another.

Not sure how I feel about this. I'd want neither most likely. I guess I'll always take the Greyhound or train when I travel inside the US, and I feel sorry for any foreign friends who want me to come see them- not going to happen as long as unfair things like these are in effect.

I feel sorry for anyone who's a swarthy-skinned person of mediterranean, latino, southeast asian descent or is just a really, really tanned white guy.

You know what's been said: Those who are willing to give up their liberties for security deserve neither..to that effect.

Everyone's ok with this being in effect until it they feel they've been violated, then its complete and utter outrage then, I'm sure. Like that one guy, I wonder where his stance was lol

I am more worried about the safety of the planes than I am of a terroist on a plane. Can we pat down the mechanics of the plane??? I really don't mind the pat downs or the xrays, or the taking off my shoes and other possessions on my person to be able to fly. It goes with the times. We take everything for granted and then are shocked when someone is profiled that could of actually been against us. Such is life. Living the easy breezy way we used to isn't going to be anymore. Get usd to it or don't fly.

It is becoming more and more invasive but if you fly, I guess that's the price we're gonna have to pay. I really don't fly anywhere so it won't affect me but if I was going somewhere, I know I will be subject to the same. That's probably when I will go balistic about it.....

I don't think the women patters are going to be much better looking than the men doing it. We could only be so lucky!

Maybe the TSA should go to the Elite Modeling Agency and apply within........

I say.... lettem do what they need to Do!!!
The last time I boarded a Plane....they only checked a couple per flight!!! (shoes off, and all that!) Which I thought was leaving the door wide open for someone to fuck up!!!

Yeah the shoes huh? Last time I flew... I had to take my shoes off and put them in the bin.............and I was wearing sandals.... that's fucked up! ..

First off the amount of radiation from a body scan would probably not add up to as much as common household electronics like the microwave would give off.........so unless it was a baby I don't know what anyone would be so worried about it...........but I have to say this...........

yup would be nice if everyone that looked like they were from a middle eastern country was padded down........hell lets do a strip search of them.......I know lets make sure they have 17 forms of picture ideas, a birth certificate and proof they are a United States Citizen before they are even allowed to book a flight on a airplane.........civil liberties be damned........

So now you have your profiling because of Sept 11, but if we are going to do profiling straight across the board.......lets see Shawn, OneHornytoad, Ynot and a few others would be profiled and treated with mistrust and searched just for being white males of that age...........because that's the demographics that Terry Nichols and Timothy McVeigh (Oklahoma Bombing) were and they were just as big of terrorists as the Sept 11 terrorists were.

If instead our airlines would pay people a decent enough wage.....and make them stick to rules of security instead of them only wanting to go on break and have that smoke because the barely over minimum wage job isn't worth really putting some work into that bags were searched, scans were done ect.

You start allowing profiling on this...........it will get worse and pretty soon others will start profiling........police are not suppose to profile but you think if airlines are allowed to they wont be allowed to...........I certainly will be glad I am a white female because them and white males will be the only ones safe from harassment and abuse...........JMO

Israel profiles, and they don't have a lot of the problems because of this. They don't do pat downs and nor body scans either. Profiling can saves lives. I know it's not always fair to do this, but this has been a very effective tool in a lot of cases.

I don't like the idea on one hand as I am not a criminal but on the other hand had someone rather be blown up or flown into the side of a building?
As far as profiling ,no. A domestic terrorist could slip by and I might remind people these people are just as dangerous as any foreign born terrorist.

It's hard really. I think back to the horror of 9/11 and think it's a good idea to have these precautions...yet, just how far are we willing to go to give up our liberties? I'm seeing news reports of young children being stripped searched.

Like I said, it's hard to really say. On the one hand, it is too invasive, both the pat down and the scanner...yet, when I think of a plane blowing up in the air, or being flown into buildings......a few moments of discomfort I will deal with if it means being safe.

JMHO, another example of Barry O's ARROGANCE.
I guess the 4th and 14 amendments are now 'chit'.
The radiation beaming body scans, could have the software written that
would make them NON-X rated, but the TSA bosses and their bosses, don't want that.
The groping of babies and young people, has got to go. If 'they' want to feel
Blarney Franks sausage and stick a finger up his butt......go for it. BUT leave the
straight, law abiding, alone. If it's sexual harrasment at work, it's the same at the
airport.
I believe in racial profiling.......if a married women is murdered,WHO is the first
suspect??? Her 'hubby', of course. I don't see much of a difference.
Last I heard, Neopolitian is thinking of giving Muslim women in full 'outfit', a free pass.
Ain't that just fekked up???

Anyone that gives up freedom for security, deserves neither.

Whites are profiled. I was standing on the corner by my house on the sidewalk admiring my foliage and a guy friend was picking me up in a few. When he drove up to the corner and I got in a cop saw us and immediately pulled us over and asked for our licenses and said he thought I was a whore! I was dressed very nice with nothin poppin out anywhere...right by my own house...so yep...female and white...profiling hookers... ...was I pissed? No...what can you do? Bitchin at a cop doesn't help. I am just glad people are doing their obs. Might have saved someones husband from getting a disease...
