Is there a certain person who does all the cooking or do others bring a dish with them? In my family, everyone always brings something. To take the load off whoevers house we have it at. At my cousins again this year. We usually take turns on place where we have dinner. I just wish my place was big enough to accomodate all that come. We usually have at least 20 sometimes up to 28.
My Mom always does the turkey and dressing! ( mmmmmmmmmmmmm I can't wait!!! I am NOT going to be satisfied with any meal til I have Thanksgiving dinner at this point) My Grandmother always makes sausage balls, potato salad (without egg for me... ) and she makes a fruit, marshmallow and cream chese desert that is to die for!! My sister in law makes a killer broccoli casserole and I hate cooked broccoli.. and she makes a pasta salad and caramel pies.... Of course, I have to bring the mac and cheese every year for every gatthering we ever have, they love it!! My mac and cheese kicks all forms of ass! Best thing you'll ever put in your mouth!!!!! And I bring butter beans and make the sweet tea!!
So do you bring a dish for the BIG get together? And what is the thing that everyone wants you to bring?

Dear God I am sooooooo hungry!! I can not wait til Thursday!!

I used to love to fix BIG holiday meals, but haven't done that for many people the last few years.

My neighbors and I split the cost and the cooking so.. yeah I reckon it's sorta potluck except we pre plan the menu before hand.

Absolutely LRR... bring your crew with you too! lol We all come with containers in hand anyway! No one wants to take all the food home with them so everyone loads containers or paper plates and goes home with something! I come home with all kinds of shit too! I'm making an extra pan of mac and cheese to take to Mitzi's this year, they love it too!
Oh... and we use paper plates for our dinner.... might sound cheap but it's less dishes to wash!! If it was a small group, we'd probably use the fine stuff but with 20-28 people... screw that!!!!!!! lol

I have done all the cooking for the last 34 years for every holiday so I guess I will do it again this year. I don't really mind it that much as I have made all these dishes so many times I could do it in my sleep.

The deal is I cook and whatever kids are home clean up after the meal. And we are using some fancy printed paper plates and plastic table cloths for the food so there will not be but two loads in the dishwasher. I stopped using the china because every year there were a few less dishes after the holiday than I started out with because someone dropped one or two.

I bring me!
Then I take all I can carry home.

One of my uncle's handles most of the cooking with Thanksgiving. There are a few people in my family that will bring a few minor food dishes and desserts.

If I cook the turkey...I usually make the dressing...make deviled eggs...and bake some pies. Everyone else fills in the blank with yummy side dishes.

Oh I'm hungry!
