It's been a long couple of weeks. If anyone says anything in the way of "computer geeks have an easy job, all they do is sit at a computer," slap that bastard hard for me.
So in my previous blog, I promised a techie blog for the fine people here. I also asked for suggestions, and while I provide an answer to those questions in the comments, I will return to the blogs with a more full explanation, and complete write up on those subjects, as well as others that cross my mind.
But seeing I'm in need of sleep I will leave you with these thoughts for now. I was asked by a random induvidual for a 100% effective method of defending against viruses. The answer? Unplug it, don't use it. The NSA's guidelines on computer security states that the only way to prevent someone from hacking into a network, it to disconnect it from the internet. Feel safer yet?
One day, while discussing the subject of computer viruses, someone interputed, and corrected me. Virii. Excuse me? Virri. No, viruses.
Virus is a Latin word, but it had no plural form. On top of that, it would need to be virius to have the plural of virii in Latin. Some people hate being corrected. I find that some people hate being corrected while correcting, more than some people hate being corrected.
