Last week gave a sneak peek of winter. Highs in the upper 30's, a little snow last Friday, and lows in the upper teens to low 20's. brrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!! This week, yeah, it's going to be a nice one. Upper 50's to low 60's. Gives me that little extra bit of time I need to get the plastic to put over windows to keep the winter chill out.

I know, I'm notorious for bitching about the snow and cold. Hey...try be outside digging out a foot of fresh snow off the driveway while listening to 5 brats in the backyard playing and having a good time. But, there is a level of excitement over that first snow fall. The little bit of snow here from last week wasn't in my area, it was further north (thankfully ), but yet, I still find myself looking forward to that first snowfall. I admit, it's pretty, and it's actually relaxing to sit all snuggled on my couch and watching it drifting down through my patio window. My biggest bitch about it is clearing my driveway and then driving in it. Let me clarify why I bitch about driving in isn't the road conditions them selves...I know enough to slow down when the roads are's the other bozo's out there that terrify the hell out of me. Just because the posted limit on the expressway says 70 mph..doesn't mean when there is a sheen of ice on it that you can still drive 70 mph. I don't care if that vehicle has front wheel drive, four wheel drive, or all wheel drive....they all slide and bump the same when on ice. My friends and I have a yearly bet on how many cars/suv's we will see in the ditch on a local road around here with a particularly sharp curve after the first major snow fall. Every year it's almost a guarantee to see at least 2 cars in the ditch by that curve.

As for the holidays coming up......I always look forward to them. I like the festive feel in the air. Last year I didn't decorate because of they younger cat, but, she's calmer I'm going to try this year. My dogs haven't been the best behaved this year...been showing what brats they can be...gotta love them. They can be entertaining sometimes, and infuriating at other times. But they do make life interesting. I just have to convince Buddy he can NOT be eating the bulbs off of the tree. Maybe since I didn't put it up last year, he's forgotten he likes to crunch them? I'm hoping.

Ok..that's my ramble for today.

Yes this week is gonna be nice but what about NEXT week??? Movin' it'd better hold out until I'm all moved!

Then it can snow all it wants! I love the first snow. I love snow from now until after the holidays. I'm looking forward to the holidays in my new home...don't know that my "decorations" isn't gonna be boxes 'n boxes....

If I can't have a tree this year then next year I plan on one last time of having a big, live tree....

It has gotten a bit nippy here in the past week, but today and yesterday were warm for the season and just beautiful.I do love the falling of the snow and we get some here every now and then. StillI am not looking forward to winter because it just lasts too long. Holidays????Not even thinking about them yet, but soon I will have to. Stay warm and kiss the critters for me!...Talulah has been eating the acorns that have fallen off the trees...that's the worst she does....and I bet vomit is on its way!

I haven't put up a tree for the last two years. Just hadn't been much in the mood to fool with one.

As for the weather, we had our first frost two nights ago.
