Tornado watches and warnings for the midwest today posted 10/26/2010 2:35:39 PM | 0 kudos what's this?     report abuse tagged: weather, news, straddle   StraddleMyNose A very strong cold front along with a very powerful low system is producing tornados across the midwest today. Illinios, Indiana, along with Ohio are getting hit. It started here in Ohio around noon, but only strong gusts right now, and nothing like what's going to hit us later this afternoon like both Illinios and Indiana has been hit already. I know Kentucky along with a few other southern states are going to get some of this as well today. Everyone living in these areas, be careful today, and have some form of shelter ready for you. *NOTE* They stated that this storm is one of the strongest that anyones seen for decades. 	We got hit last night and this morning with very strong winds, but not as bad as you are reporting. I have an old oak tree that is gradually dying and limbs are breaking off and hitting my house. This is scaring me. Nothing I can do about it. Hope all will be well for our friends here and those in the line of distruction possibilities.

	It is a weird fall. We had our rounds of tornados over the weekend. It is very odd for this to be happening this late in the year, but it is.

	It just started about 15 minutes ago with a heavy downpour while wind is whipping the heavy rain all over the place outside.

	I heard the warnings on the radio while driving here! (Pittsburgh) The wind blew my truck all over the road! But....when you are riding on Mountain tops...it happens anyways! Black clouds are rolling in here at my Motel as I type!

	We have a bad storm ripping through here right now... weather service said winds could be in excess of 60 MPH... trees swaying and leaves blowing everywhere!! There was a funnel cloud spotted in Maryville about 20 miles from here!

	Got a lot wind and a lot of rain here...and it's supposed to be windy again tomorrow around here. They are talking about gusts as high as 60 mph again.
