have any of you had a job that started out fun and ended up being pain in the ass? the theater i work at is one of those jobs. there are 3 promotions open for which i applied for. needless to say i didnt get it AGAIN. the reason i was told i didnt get it was i dont solve the problems i complain about and i dont call people over to my line often enough. i amm at the point i wanna say screw it and fuck you all on the way out the door

yep had days like that and thats just with some ungrateful customers in my job,and i'm self employed.
worse one I ever had was a lil old lady who rang up in the middle of winter and was out of firewood. it was snowing so heavy the road was closed up in the highlands where I had to go to get the timber from, but my truck was 4wd so no big problem but once i'd got back down to sea level it was cold but no snow .
this lady actually complained cos as i was throwing her firewood off my truck clumps of snow were falling off the tray where it had settled on the tray before i stacked the firewood on it..and she actually complained cos i was spilling snow onto her contrete driveway
I'm usually polite to customers so once it was paid for i said with a smile on my face there was a good way to avoid that in future and she said how?
and I said as I drove off; try buying your next load of firewood during summer

I never had a job I like so much that I would wake up in the morning thinking OH BOY I get to to work today. So all mine were pain in the asses., especially when the weather was nice and the bike was running good.

The only 'job' I really enjoyed getting up, ready to jump in each day, was my own business- could be again, if this economy turns around! I won't hold my breath tho!

That pretty much sums it up except I have had a few that I enjoyed from the beginning until the end. I have also noticed two things, in general, about low paying, menial, dead end jobs like the one you describe:

The lower the pay, the shittier the work environment.

Everyone is expendable. They can easily replace you and you can easily replace them.

I think thier quickly figuring out how many people they have to hire as 3 quit on a saturday shift. the biggest reason i am looking is i applied twice for a position and got turned down both times. the second time my height was a factor as well as being told i wasnt bringing solutions to the "problems" i was bringing up. i clearly was bringing up soulitions when i was asking for certian things back
