"payback is a bitch"?
I'm sitting here on the computer, got Fox News on and listening to it...when I hear their "Breaking News Alert". Seems one of the Bank Of America branches in Ann Arbor Michigan has been held up. I'm sure we're all familiar with BOA from recent news stories being one of the major lenders who is being investigated for foreclosure fraud, and, who has announced that starting next week, they were going to resume their foreclosures.
Just wondering.........................if the robber is one of the homeowners whose house has been foreclosed on? Or is it someone, because of this economy, that is desperate? I don't know about the rest of the country...but it seems here in Michigan that bank robberies have been on the rise the last couple of years. I know, the economy sucks, people are desperate.
I've had times where I would have loved to tell my mortgage company to either go to hell or to just take the damn house...but....I hang in there...pay my bills..sometimes they're paid late..but they're paid. I don't see any benefit in a bank robbery...I mean...what good is the money when you end up caught?  And face it, majority of bank robbers get caught and end up losing the money and losing a few years of their life behind bars. To me, that's just way too high of a price to pay to take something that isn't mine to begin with. I enjoy my freedom too much.

It has been happening around here too. I am not sure where they get the idea they are going to get away with it, but somehow they feel they will I guess because they do it. I can't imagine even trying to think about doing it...I think maybe its the crack....

On the other hand... busted bank robbers get free room and board, free medical, free meals, free inside or outside gyms to exercise in, all the 'sex' you could want whenever, maybe even a stipend for pay, new 'friends', free education to learn new 'trades' in the crime business to practice when you get out, contributing your piece in helping to grow our economy by making license plates and other useful products, such as an array of pointy objects for use in various situations! I mean... what's not to love???

Needless to say it didn't pop up on my news radar. But you certainly pose an interesting question. If that turns out to be the case, I am certain that the robbery will become national news.
I certainly can't quantify anything, but do read our local papers online daily. If anything, not only banks, but robberies of businesses and individuals appears to have declined significantly around here.
