Seriously do they have scabs for hotels to?
Times are hard....if there is a job opening...people are going to take it.
Only if they don't have to be fluent in English.
That's a stereotype.  The hotel I work at....there are no illegals working there. And all of us speak perfect English btw. And no, there is no union at the hotel I work at....then again, it's a privately owned business, not part of a major hotel chain. Maybe the Hilton chain has a union? 
I don't know how they are "operating okay"....maybe supervisors/managers are doing the work? Where I work, when it gets really slow, and only a few rooms are sold, our supervisors will clean the rooms along with their other jobs they do.
