I did a similar blog three years ago asking on here what your trick-or-treat date and hours was for Halloween for the kids in your area. I found out in my local newspaper a couple of days ago that the area where I live is going to be having it on Oct. 28 (Thursday) from 5:30pm - 7 pm.
This is for all or Portsmouth, New Boston, and the rest of the county here.
I guess having trick-or-treat on the weekend is much too dangerous for the kids 14 and under (I'm guessing because of more traffic on the roads during the weekends to where kids are more at risk, authorities decided this). The city, village, and county councils all set the date and time for this to concide with each other.
Every year it's usually held on Halloween eve here, and it's usually been between 5pm - 7:30pm. However, years ago, the city used to have it start about 30 minutes after New Boston and the rest of the county started theirs, but finish 30 minutes after New Boston and the rest of the county finished up there's to give all the kids a chance to hit most if not all of the area with trick-or-treating while getting all the candy they could.
Personally, I think this should be held on either Halloween eve, or Halloween day/night, with hours between 5pm - 9pm, at least. Now, I know some people don't like to put a limit on kids trick-or-treating where hours are concerned, but I see nothing wrong with limiting them to certain hours for various reasons.
Anyway, when is the date, and what are the hours for trick-or-treating in your area?

most people here ignore all government commandments. no matter how severe the penalties. its always on halloween which i think is sunday this year. all hallows eve, tons of people go to church for the all night vigil. tell the atheistic communist bastard to go phuck themselves. and lotsa people go around saying hi, an excuse to visit like an open house when ya move a housewarming or an open party. last year i just left tons of candy on the front porch and left a big sign on the door that said, take all ya want, leave a little for me. i went to the door a few times thru the phenomenon of premonition. it was someone amazingly special at the door. i almost died of shock. i'm still recovering from last halloween. it was that shocking to me.

I have no idea where and what hours anymore. It's been years since my daughter went trick or treating. And no kids come to my house which is fine with me!

No one tricks or treats around here- houses are too far apart and the kids are too lazy to walk the walk! I do buy some candy to pass out but I always buy what I like- you know- just in case they don't show up- then I eat it myself over time!

Here it is Halloween Eve from 6pm until 9:30pm. Parents usually are driving the kids from house to house in the housing areas here instead of letting them walk and they hit a few of the better neighborhoods in Fayetteville. A lot of people over the last few years have just started turning out their lights and do not give out candy. I do not agree with that as it is only one night a year and the kids really do enjoy it.
The best place I have seen for Halloween is Watertown NY. Those people all dress up and almost every house gave out candy. But they were that way for all the holidays.
