Stay with the "theme" tonight.

For a while now...I've been having this problem with my van's brake calipers. Especially on really hot and muggy days. They stick, don't let go, causing the brakes to "hold"..which is not good. Now, these past couple of weeks here have been cool, low humidity, so, the brakes weren't acting up as much. Tuesday, was warm and humid. I left work, didn't even get a block up the road and it started. And, since I was close to my parents house, I stopped by to have Dad take a look at them. Ok, a little history here....Dad had replaced both front cailpers with new ones, along with new brake pads and new rotors. And still, the calipers, new ones, would stick. So, Tuesday, I told Dad how I had seen some mention online about how sometimes the brake hoses, while looking ok on the outside, sometimes "collapse" on the inside. So, he bought new brake hoses, put them on, and I'll be damned....the brakes, for the first time, felt like NORMAL brakes. I think the problem may finally be solved.

Now, I just have to convince this van I need it's fan to WORK in the winter. Damn thing works when it wants to. Seems when it gets damp is when it doesn't work. If it's dry...it's ok. But, what do I expect with a vehicle that is 13 years old. At least the heated seats work!

Hooray for heated seats in the winter!!!!!!!!!! I hate that you're having car problems... I'm having some strange noises coming from my front end... not sure if it's brakes or front end.......... ugh! I can't afford this! My brother told me when I bought my Honda that I would probably go through the brakes because he did with his Civic. Don't tell me that! It's a Honda!!!!!!

Anyway... weather is cool over night here too... it's been nice to sleep with just the fan on and not the AC. But that sucker runs all freaking day... cause you know how hot it gets here sugar................................ er than dammit!!!!

Kudo to ya!

Btw, I'm glad your dad got your brakes fixed. You never want to drive knowing your brakes are warped.

As for the weather, bring on the cold front tomorrow!

I'm sorry your van is giving you such fits Sugar. At least you fixed the brake problem...and maybe now...with a little bit of wishful thinking...that will be it for awhile. I hate car problems during the winter...so I'll keep my fingers crossed just in case you need some good luck.

Btw...it's blustery...and rainy...and dreary...and cool today. It's not colder than a witch's tit yet...but it's coming...

That cold front is on it's way.

Thanks Kit. I'm glad the brake problem is fixed. It's an older van though...so...I'm hoping it behaves itself for a while now.

I think Knot may be right it could be the contacts in the switch have gotten corroded. But I don't even know what kind of van it is. May be that if I knew more I could be more help.

Seems when it gets damp is when it doesn't work. If it's dry...it's ok.

That does sound like moisture is getting into the wiring coming from the fan motor and/or the fan motor assembly itself, diverting the 12 volts away from the motor! Could also be moisture in the fan's switch assembly!

Just a thought!
