Now, this I'm happy to report! I've seen the "adult" ads on CL and most were by 18 to 28 y/o ladies on the ladies side of the adult ads, that either didn't realize or didn't care that they could be setting themselves up to what could be a dangerous situation at best!

Scroll down to the bottom of CL and you'll see the word 'censored' in white letters on a black background!

Craigslist really took a hit over that stalker/murderer guy in New England. I suppose the reality is that no online dating site, adult or other, is 100% safe. I'm sure we've all been duped a time or two by someone misrepresenting themselves due to the annoymity (did I spell that right???? Geez!) offered by the 'net.
But I agree, seems the Craigslist dating/hook up section leaves out a lot of information, so I think one would be more prone to danger than other dating/adult websites....

No one is safe. Again another pizza delivery person was killed and robbed....When will Martha Coakley and other Attorney Generals demand that pizza shops are not allowed to deliver pizzas!!!

That part taken out I agree on but the personals on CL was my back up to see the good stuff when AMD cut me off from seeing any goods here after the trial period. By the way I don't respond to any ads on CL I just look.

Why even bother putting a censored banner on it if that part of the site has been removed?

I think CL should start worrying about all the scammers invading their site!!! In the process of looking for work, I have found that there are so many scammers lurking there.
I had replied to an ad the other day and got a return email from some guy named Mark. Then I got another email almost directly with the subject "RE: nissan on craigslist" that I did NOT inquire about. I had words back and forth with this asshole and he ended up posting my FULL name and email address and told the spammers to "have at it"!!!! I was hotter than hell!
I emailed CL DIRECTLY and told them that it better be removed ASAP!!!!!! I flagged it and the ad was deleted but who knows how many got my email address!!!
I have an item posted on CL for sale right now and will be meeting up with the lady on Monday for her to purchase it.
I got my wicker chair for free from CL and I babysit a little daschund that her daddy posted an ad to find someone to keep her while they go out of town. I have kept her 3 times already. CL isn't entirely bad... you just have to use good judgement!

CraigsList is very valuable. To a large extent it has put the classified ads in the newspaper out to pasture. I have bought and sold items there, located day labor for yard work, found a retireee who does lawn mower repairs reasonably, met women, and obtained several writing gigs.

BTW, Tassie, here is the link to CraigsList in Australia and there is a section for Tasmania.
