Okay, baseball fans, what are your upcoming predictions for the baseball playoffs after the regular season ends in about 5-6 weeks? I'm going on record saying that my Reds will win the N.L. central, with Atlanta and San Diego winning theirs. The wild card team in the national league will be St. Louis edging out philly. It will come down to my Reds and San Diego playing each other to make it to the World Series. My Reds will end up making it to the World Series after beating San Diego.
As for my prediction for the teams in the A.L., the New York Yankees will win the A.L. east having edged out Tampa Bay. Minnesota will take the central, with Texas winning the west. The wild card will be Tampa Bay. New York will end up beathing Texas, with Tampa Bay winning over Minnesota. New York will go on to beat Tampa Bay, and face my Cincinnati Reds in the World Series. My Reds will take the first 4 games and win the whole thing like we did against the same team back in '76.
Okay, baseball fans, let's hear your predictions this fall.

My Tigers will go back into hibernation and dream of the "Roar of 84".
Oh...real world...not dream world. Ok..gotcha.
I say the Reds and Yankees will face off at the Series...and the Reds will take it. I mean...did you all see what they did to the Cardinals a week or so back? Those Reds are hungry!

did you all see what they did to the Cardinals a week or so back? Those Reds are hungry! Actually, my Reds were swept by them, but then went on a very nice winning streak afterwards. before we were swept by them, we had beaten them pretty bad during the previos series we had with them.

Actually, my Reds were swept by them, but then went on a very nice winning streak afterwards. Actually, I was referring to the bench clearing brawl. And that was the first inning. I missed the rest of the game....had to go to my parents...Dad wanted to use my van.

Oh yeah, I know. Looks like we started it too. NO! Really?
Didn't both managers end up getting thrown out of the game after that?
That was a pretty wild first inning.

Some times you get wunderkinds. But not often. Then again, more than any other professional sport, you get teams that can put it together come playoff time and win it all. Who will that be? I don't know, they all seem vulnerable.
The other thing is, this season doesn't appear to involve that many of the usual suspects. I have only seen the Padres play once, the Reds twice. The other leaders/contenders, beyond the Yankees and Phillies, are seen less than teams in the lead are usually seen. My Rangers fall into that "who would have thunk it group".
This season reminds me of a few years ago when we had the White Sox and Astros matching up. But to turn off the music and stop dancing, in a tough call, I see the Twins taking the Phillies in the World Series.
My Reds will take the first 4 games and win the whole thing If the Pirates moved to Cincinnati you would say that about them, Homer

Unfortunately, the Cardinals have OWNED the Reds for many, many years! The Reds were lucky to win a series against them earlier in the season, but being swept by the Cards is more the Reds' style (I'm not sure of the record between the two teams, but that sweep was more of what I have come to expect of the Reds when they play St. Louis).
The best thing Cincinnati can do is put as much daylight between themselves and the Cardinals as possible, so that when they go head-to-head, Cincinnati won't find themselves looking up at the Cards!
Don't get me wrong--the Reds' success this year is a pleasant surprise, combined with the Bengals' success last year and the promise of more to come this fall. I just remember too many years of dominance put on the Reds by St. Louis!

You guys have a long history of choking at the end when you have made a run for it for around 40 years now.
I wish that was true, but you are full of shit. We rarely choke at the end because we are rarely in it. In good years, we come back in September from being, let's say ten or twelve out to finishing about five out. I don't ever recall us being in first on this date when we didn't win the the division. Unfortunately, that only happened three times. We won our first playoff game we ever played, and it was our only win. The only team we have ever played is the Yankees.
That being said, we have a tradition and it isn't anything to be proud of. There are obviously many legitimate ways to rank out the Rangers, but that quoted statement isn't one of them!
Your huge lead has dwindled down to what now, 7? Yeah, it has gone from being the largest lead in the majors down to being the biggest lead in the majors. Our biggest lead has been 8.5 games.

When I say long history of choking, I was referring to having never been in a World Series as the Texas Rangers.
