I thought I would post this article to make people aware of what could be a serious problem to people with GPS- equipped smartphones and digital cameras, that embed information (called: geotags) into your photos, that you know, most of us use to publish our photos on AMD and elsewhere??
This is something that probably never occurs to anyone:

Neither my cell phone nor my digital camera have GPS in them. They are just standard little gadgets, no bells and whistles to them.

That was very interesting.... and very scary!! Thankfully, I don't have a camera on my cell phone...
But that does suck sometimes too!
I'm not too worried about it.

but so what?
Why do you have to keep doing that shit Bruce?????? This very topic has been adressed numerous times in the past week or so!
The majority of us are in the phone book.... but if someone doesn't 'know your name, then they can't find you that way. Apparently you don't have to be listed or your name known for someone to find you according to this article. Very scary!!
GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

but so what?
The "but so what?" comes into play if someone can locate you and does, for whatever reason! The "but so what?" comes into play when someone steals your identity that may take months of grief and lots of money to correct- which means nothing to you, unless it happens to you- that's the... 'so what' of it all!

but so what?
I bet that Bruce cannot go a whole week without using that phrase.
I do have the camera on the phone and GPS. (My kids idea) But I rarely use the phone to take photos as my camera does a better job. And if I do I only download it straight into my computer for my own use. If smeone wants to steal my identity can they please get all my medical bills too? I don't have credit cards and after the bills for my trips to the hospital over the last year I don't think any company in their right mind would give them a card in my name.

guess i'm fairly safe, i don't have or want an iphone, or any of the other fancy contraptions on the market now, and i'm not on any social networking site like those mentioned. just a couple of dating sites, tho even those i guess do pose some hazard. but such is the price we pay for technology. the easier things get, the easier the crooks have it.
