I have noticed that trouble creeps in when trying to emphasize text in a blog or comment!
This is the easiest way I know of when trying to make a quote or making a word or group of words stand out (they're known as using: BBCodes):
When quoting something: just highlight the word or group of words and then click on
and what you highlighted, will end up as a quote!
You can highlight a word by double clicking on it with your left mouse button- you can highlight a group of words, a sentence, a paragraph or an entire page of text by holding your left mouse button down and dragging your mouse over the text you want to highlight, let up on your left mouse button and then click the appropriate button you want to get the effect you want! You can copy and paste by doing the same procedure I just described!
You don't have to click on the
button once at the beginning of a 'quote' and then click on the
button again at the end of what you want to 'quote'- just highlight what you want to 'quote' and click the (Quote) button once- the (Quote) and (/Quote) signs will be automatically inserted where needed!
When you want to emphasize a word or group of words: just highlight the word or group of words and then click on the: [B] button to bold print your selection or the [I] button to italicize your selection or the button to underline your selection!
You can actually combine [B], [I] and the buttons to get this for example
If you practice this for a bit, it'll become 2nd nature! You can check the results you want by temporarily creating a blog and watching what the results are- then not posting it- it'll give you an idea if you're doing things right or not!
Another tip: If you want to copy some text on a PC- highlight it and hold the Ctrl key down and hit the C key- that will copy what you highlighted into your clipboard! Hold the Ctrl key down and hit the V key, to paste what you copied into your clipboard, into your text window you're working in!
You can do this in another application if you want (text in a word processor or from a website page etc.) and paste the text into your AMD text window!
I think for Mac users the equivalent keys are: Command-C to copy and Command-V to paste!
Anyway, hope all that helps to make things easier! Sounds complicated reading it but if you read it and try it a few times- it'll make things a lot easier!
Copy & paste to friend: (Click inside box; Ctrl + C to copy; Ctrl + V to paste)
