Shark week on Discovery Channel kicked off last night. I've always been fascinated by sharks. They are awesome creatures, and so misunderstood. The largest of them, the Whale Shark, is the most "gentle". For it's bulk, it's only source of food is plankton Plankton and other small fish in it's path while it's swimming around. The Great White, it's food of choice is seals, (now come on...Jaws was a MOVIE, not a documentary! ). If I remember correctly, I think it's the Mako Shark that is a man eater...to be more feared than the Great White. They come in all shapes and sizes..the smallest being just a foot to the largest being over 50 ft. I just find them fascinating. 	btw...just cause I find them fascinating doesn't mean I'd want to swim with them. Look at the chompers on the Great White's pic! Ok...I'm off to get the lawn mowed.

	I guess they're fascinating creatures...from a far. I once saw a jaw bone of a shark and it was truly amazing. I didn't know at the time but when they lose a tooth...another one pops in to takes its place. You see...their teeth are set up kind of like a conveyer belt...so that if one is lost...another one is there to take its place. And they can lose the same tooth multiple times without ever actually running out of a tooth for any one particular spot. I found this tidbit to be very strange and amazing all at the same time. Oh...and about that mug shot...I would probably pee my pants if that shark was swimming right beside a boat that I was on. Seriously...he's whole smile screams "Hello Dinner!" to me. you gotta mow today? I conned my neighbor into it yesterday. I got the lawn guy to mow my lawn the other day. It's a win-win. The lawn gets mowed...and I get to admire his cute backside!

	Another little tidbit about sharks...their skin....run your hand along it one way (nose to tail) and it's smooth. Run your hand the opposite direction, and it will get torn up. Between you and Lisa with getting someone to mow your lawn...now I'm jealous!

	If I remember correctly, I think it's the Mako Shark that is a man eater...to be more feared than the Great White . No, most attacks occur with four species and the mako isn't one of them according to Wikipedia. "Out of more than 360 shark species, only four have been involved in a significant number of fatal unprovoked attacks on humans: the great white, tiger, bull and the oceanic whitetip."
