Dear bottle opener:
Congratulations! Not only have you figured out that by removing this bottle you have effectively reduced the amount of pollution in the Spokane River, you have gained a jewel of wisdom as well by simply opening it up and removing the contents of said bottle. Far be it for me to not deliver on my promises, so let me start out by introducing myself. My name is Joshua VanVeen, a.k.a. Smurf and at the age of nine I was taken away by C.P.S. At the age of ten I was returned to my parents who honestly loved me. Ate the age of nineteen though, I found myself homeless. Since then I have become educated, have fallen in and out of love, and have pursued dreams beyond compare. I will not give a full synopsis of my life but instead, a culmination of the wisdom that I have gained. What I have learned is simple, and that is to simply live and love. This can be done if you follow some guidelines.
*Live truthfully:
This means to live like you mean it. If you have dreams, go for it. Whats holding you back? If you hold hope to your heart then you can overcome some pretty awesome obstacles. Seriously, I went to school to become a drama teacher. By the end of this week I will have been in my first movie ever. This is coming up from being a homeless nobody to someone worthy of mention in the credits. If I did not hold my head high and stick my neck out, I would probably be just as homeless as I was when I was nineteen.
*Love honestly:
I just went through this situation where not even a week ago a girl told me that she liked me and would even consider dating me. Today she told me that she would never think of me like that, ever. Which is the lie? I don’t know, but I do know this; that if she had been honest with me from the start, I would not have had the feeling of my guts being ripped out and stomped on. If you say you love someone, whether it be friend, family, or S.O. then mean it because you will do nothing but harm if it turns out you do not.
*Be in the moment:
What matters is what is here, right now. Transcend the bullshit and you will experience a happiness beyond compare.
*Be generous:
That old adage, “do unto others…” Its true! Let me tell you one thing that I hope sticks with you… People will be more apt to help those who have helped them. The trick is, is that you should not expect anything in return. You see, people appreciate a favor that they must return but will absolutely RESPECT a favor they do not.
*Be kind:
No one likes an asshole. I don’t, you don’t, nobody does unless its Dennis Leary then its okay. So don’t be an asshole and people as a general rule will not be assholes to you.
*Contact me:
I would love to know that this note made it somewhere. You can find me on myspace and face book by looking up my email: {email address removed}. I hope to hear from you.

One more thing:
Always pay it forward. No matter what it is.

Peace be with you!

These are definitely ^^^ great words ^^^ to live by.

I also hear this quoted as "play it forward" which also rings very true to me...and is something I endeavor to do as much as I possibly can.

You have great advice weylinalastair. Thanks for sharing.
