The guy I've been seeing casually for the past 18 months got pissed at me today because I wouldnt drive him somewhere. I had 1 day off this week where I didnt have anything planned and he asked if i could drive him to Des Moines . I said it was POSSIBLE but didnt confirm anything. Turns out my parents car broke down and needed to borrow mine for the day to get parts. Needless to say this guy got mad at me because I didnt drop everything and go running to him and chauffer him around all day. Needless to say he pretty much told me to fuck off and he wasnt my friend anymore. Am I reading to much into this or is he an asshole and jerk? 	Playing devil's advocate, it would have been polite as soon as you knew that were loaning your car to your parents to have called and explained it. If you did, you didn't communicate it in the post.

	ok, for my two cents worth. if he can't take the idea your parents mean more right now then he does, tough. you did not say yes, i will, but it might be possible. if i know i'm going to need something done for me or need help on a given day, i ask before hand, and try not to depend on one person. sounds to me like he doesn't understand he ain't your first priority. so, with his attitude as stated, you're better off without him and it.

	i did tell him i wouldbe loaning my parents my car the night before and would not be able to take him. I also told him I was getting tired of always driving him around and not getting paid for gas. His responce to that was I was going to ay for gas on this trip.
