ANSWER ME THIS !!! LID UP OR DOWN ? posted 6/15/2010 2:48:37 AM | 0 kudos what's this?     report abuse   flavorbuster This is a current event that just ticked me off about the lid to the toilet seat. I just got through bitching at my nephew & his 13 year old son not more than 15 minutes ago about closing the lid after using the bathroom. It's not because I'm too lazy to lift the lid but what is the purpose of putting it down ? I don't know if it's supposed to be a courtesy thing but to me it's an insult. I remember working out of town on a job a year & a half ago having a roommate at the hotel who did that & I when the lid was lifted I was greeted with shit that wasn't flushed. I could have simply flushed it & complained about it later but I made him flush it & boldly asked that it didn't happen again. There is only two in the household getting back to my apartment, my dough beater & me. We never close the lid & the seat stays down. Not saying my nephew is funky but as a precautionary measure as if using a public toilet I wash my hands twice versus the one time afterwards when you don't have to raise the lid after someone else. 	It was always a big deal to somebody else and a who gives a shit thing to me. AS long as you don't pee on the seat, who cares, and if they do, why should they?

	In my house, the lid is down so my goof ball dogs don't drink all of the toilet water. I keep plenty of water available for them in their bowl..yet they try to get that toilet water.

	That makes sense with a pet in the house & I'll close the lid when I let my parakeets out which isn't too often because they shit on picture frames, furniture, you name it & they will shit on it. The toilet wouldn't be a good birdbath just a drowning pool & I would hate for that to happen. Shitting where they died everyday would be on my conscience while some would consider it payback for dropping shit on everything they owned.

	I'm with Sugar.. I don't like doggie kisses when their beards are full of toilet water.. so lid down. People are lucky I don't have a clip lock for it yet.

	I keep both the lid and seat down. I have cats, and I don't want them in the toilet bowl playing in the water.

	Lid up...and seat down There is nothing worse than having to get out of bed in the middle of the night...rushing to the bathroom to do your business...and sitting down on the toilet lid...instead of the toilet seat.

	Seat down... lid usually up but sometimes down, depends on whether or not the dogs are in my end of the house. I hate to sit down and find the dogs have been drinking out of the toilet....

Yeah, there is, sitting down on a wet toilet seat. Must have been cold. If she started peeing the instant she sat on the lid it would be a mess. That reminds me of the prank of putting clear plastic over the toilet under the seat.
