In my twisted mind boredom is quite amusing considering the massive amount of information on the internet. One such fun idea is Mentos and diet coke. Sure it was a passing fad but still a fun time for the idly maniacal. Well heres what went down; feeling somewhat rambunctious I had made myself a cool 2ltr diet coke bottle rocket ship with the intention of showing my wee nephews something funny, all preparations were in place, wind was a nice gentle breeze, the sky was clear, and i had an ample supply of diet coke. Rocket #1 flew about 30 feet straight up no problems and landed safely in the back yard. #2 flew OK a little more mess but went fine. #3 is where the fun happens great launch kids are giggling and on the decent the bottle hits the fence bounces of into the neighbors hot tub with them in it. At the time it was quite a little fiasco because the lady in the tub was drenched in soda and my nephews were running for the door, so being the responsible adult i am i go to offer my apologies and end up with a margarita in the face and a stern lecture about responsibility. Moral to the story next time check the aim first and run like hell if it goes awry LOL.

When I was around 11 we had these blue and red plastic six inch "rockets" you filled up about half way with water. At the bottom there was fitting. The launcher was a pump with a sliding clip that was locked in over the rocket. You then pumped as much air into it as you could, pulled back the clip and off went the rocket. I guess it would get up to 40 feet in the air max.
Well, we got this idea of substituting 7up instead of water. When the clip was pulled, it shot up and we lost sight of it. We didn't see it come down. Later I was riding my bike around the block and saw a car at the curb with a slight dent in the roof and small pieces of red and blue plastic around it.
