Well Hello, all my little pervians. I've missed you all bunches. I'll even bet some of you have no idea who I am, but I'm Backkkkkkkkkkkkkkk. I did sneak back in from time to time to read some of my favorite people's blogs, but I've taken a break from here for some time now.

Not that I didn't love and miss you guys, just I had a bunch of stuff go on in my life and really didn't have the time to spend here like I used to.

No......I didn't actually get a life, it's more like a life got me. Some of you might know that I have two grown daughters, well now it seems I have two new daughters, one is 10 and the other is 2, almost 3. Seems they got left here with me by their mother and she decided she needed a new life and didn't want to be bothered by them. She rarely calls, doesn't return phone calls, and drops by with her cell phone attached to her ear and ignores all of us from the time she hits the door until the minute she leaves. She usually waits until the kids are in the bed before she drops by to get a new batch of clothes, food, money, or cigarrettes.

But it's not all bad, I've learned that I'm still a pretty good mommy when the need arises. I'm still good at making dinners, and taking two kids in tow when I need to go shopping. Now that's a feat that I thought I'd never have to use again, but one never knows does one?

I do need to get back in practice of making and sticking to a routine bedtime. I had gotten used to going to bed at 3 am and getting up when I damned well pleased. Well, it doesn't work like that anymore. Especially when you've got to get a third grader off to school at 6:30 am. Thank Gawd that school is out here now. I can finally sleep late again.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that I would have a 2 yr old (or for that matter a 10 yr old) at almost 50. [Yes, I'm right there with you in the birthday dept. Skwirl girl. Mine is the 13th.]

I thought this would be the time in my life when I was living it up with the man of my dreams, but as usual, I guess he'll have to wait if he ever shows up for me to be an empty nester again.

How did I get roped into this, and why am I doing it? Well, you see, I've always been the responsible one. I've taken in strays all my life, animal and human. I never knew it would someday be my two grandmonsters. But that is what life handed me and I'll do the best I can with what I've got I guess.

Oh, and an update, I have an appt with my disability attorney the 8th. I sure hope it's good news, if not I don't know how I'll support these two kids. Everybody send up a good word for me to whom ever you send them up to. I could sure use them.

Thanks for taking time to read my blog. I appreciate it.

I can empathise. My aunt raised her two sons, then her 2 grand-daughters and now is raising her 2 great-grand-kids. She is 68 years old and certainly deserves to be able to enjoy her life. My cousin went into the Navy when his girls were young, the youngest was a baby at the time. Thier mother was into drugs and everything else and wasn't exactly mother material, so when Wayne went into the service my aunt agreed to take the girls TEMPORARILY until Wayne could make arrangements to take them. That never happened, he met and married a woman that didn't want children and he left his children with his mother to raise. Now we come to his daughter Robin who has been in trouble with the law and also has a drug problem. When she had her first child, a daughter she was living with my aunt (her grandmother) and decided that she wasn't mother material and took off leaving the baby with my aunt. 4 years later she shows up again pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. She stuck around for a while and then took off again leaving both children with my aunt. Now, granted the kids are much better off with my aunt, but she's getting up there in age and just isn't physically able to take care of an 18 month old and a 5 year old although she does the best she can. Robin shows up when she pleases and plays mommy for a few weeks, disrupts the kids's lives and takes off again.

My family helps out as much as possible and gives my aunt a break as much as we are able, but it's just not enough.

So I fully understand your feeling of obligation, and the stress i'm sure it causes you. I can also imagine that you love those kids and are doing the best you can. I admire you very much, because I see what my aunt goes through on a daily basis.

I'm also happy to see you back on the site, you have been missed.

Well hello again blue... It certainly sounds like you have your hands full. I commend you for your bravery....yes, I said bravery...because to be perfectly honest, I couldn't do it...I don't think.

Maybe I'm wrong and if confronted with the situation I would and could rise to the occasion but I have a feeling I couldn't or not for long. So it says a lot to the awesome kind of person you are to be able to do this because...to say you HAVE to is wrong....no one HAS to take on raising kids. They get thrown into the system every day with all its nightmares. But these choices are there to be made if one cared to go that way.

You are such a blessing to these children and like WoW said....there'll be special rewards in heaven for you someday.

Yep....there will be...

Thanks for the welcome back. I've missed you guys and do appreciate you. I didn't write this blog to get praise, just to let you know what had been going on in my life and why I hadn't been around. In fact, if you really want the truth, lol I think I'm back because I miss adult conversation. I think I just need somebody to talk to. Any way, just glad to be back, don't know how often I'll get to comment, or blog, but just know that I'm still Lurking.

Hey Beautiful! Nice to see you again.

Bless you for taking those little ones into your heart and home. There's a special place in heaven for people like you. It's certainly an inconvenience and a hardship.. but I think of the love you are going to teach them. It might even be the difference between them becoming viable humans or repeating their mother's behavior. You are very special.

Happy Birthday to US! Wooot..

If you go to the department of social services they have help for grandparents who are responsible for their grandchildren. I checked into it recently when I thought I might end up with my youngest grandchild for a long period of time because of some family drama. Happily he is back with his parents for now. They will help with food stamps and vouchers for clothes and you should be able to get AFDC for the two children. It will help you until you get the disability.

You guys are so right........they saw their mother and now they are both being little monsters. I've got them in the bathtub right now so I can watch Saving Grace. If they don't stop yelling at each other though I may have to go dunk them a few times.
